There had been a party, he could remember that. Why was he in here though? It was dank and dark. He didn’t like the dark. Where was the light switch? He could have sworn that there was a light switch in the basement yesterday.
“Wait, this wasn’t the basement.”
The basement was smaller, it wasn’t quite so smelly as wherever here was, and there was a spider in the basement. He had followed that spider somewhere. Where though? He couldn’t remember anything after he saw the spider. Where was he? It felt a bit like a basement, except not. This wasn’t a basement anymore. It may have been at one point, but this wasn’t a basement anymore. It was too other to be a basement. Basements felt different.
Why couldn’t he remember what happened? It was like someone had taken his memories and replaced them with, with what?
The party was inside. He had gone to the bathroom. He had seen the spider. He followed the spider. Then there was a blank, and he was in well, wherever this dark place was.
There was a body. Why was there a body? Was this a dead body? Why couldn’t he remember the body?! Why was the body so important? Why was he so upset over a body?
Wait there was light! At last, he could see where he was. But the light was shining in his eyes?
“Hello?” he said. “Is there anyone there?”
No one answered.
They were quiet. Why were they so quiet? Why couldn’t he remember?
He grabbed his arms. Wait. those weren’t his arms. He didn’t have arms. Why didn’t he have arms? He had arms yesterday.
What was he touching? Why could he touch things if he didn’t have arms? Why couldn’t he remember?
Something had happened. Between his being in this cavern, and him following the spider. Spiders were the size of houses, right? He couldn’t remember. How did he know he was in a cavern when he couldn’t even remember the spider? The spider had been nearly the size of the house. It had grabbed him. And then what?
Why was the body so important?
Where was his body?
Why couldn’t he remember?
His body was in the spider. But he wasn’t in the spider, right?
He couldn’t be in a spider’s stomach, he was too big for that, right?
It would explain the smell and the darkness…
Was that where his body was? But then where was he? And what were all the people around him? Why were they so quiet? And still!
The spider. He could see the spider. What was it wrapping him in?
