Teagan

I walked into the school building with Cameron. This was our school. It belonged to the Moonlight's Kiss pack. My pack that I suddenly came to own. Thinking about the pack started me thinking on Marcus. How was he? 

Flashback

“I give Teagan the pack.” Marcus said calmly. “What!” Marcus's father roared. “I'm giving her the pack.” I usually would have gotten aggravated that they were speaking over me, but his declaration kept me silent. “Why?” I squeaked, my words not coming out right. “I can't live without you baby, muchless lead. You are my equal in every way that means you would be a perfect leader.” I rubbed my eyes. Any moment I would wake up from this taunting dream. When I opened my eyes, I was still here. This was not a dream.

“She's a female!” His father spat. Marcus shrugged. “As alpha what I say goes. I say she is your new alpha, so it goes. What do you say Teag?” I stood painfully still. This all rested on my shoulders. If I said yes I would have many enemies. So what! My wolf Tori yelled. I nodded my agreement. After all, I could defeat an alpha in seconds flat. “Yes.” I breathed. His father shot me a death glare and stomped out of the room.

End flashback

In a matter of seconds, all eyes drifted to me. I shrugged off their gazes. Some people whispered, pointing at me. I shrugged and flipped my hair. Their gossip would have angered me, but it didn't anymore. I smelled something sweet in the air. It smelled like tangerines and the forest. Tori howled.  “HE'S COMING!” Tori howled. “Who?” I asked in my head.

I struggled to get my wolf under control. A boy started walking up the hall, making his way to me. He was tall for a human, but not for an alpha. His muscles bulged under his thin white t-shirt. His jeans hung low on his hips, creating a sexy look. My mouth literally watered. I willed him to look at me. A pair of honey gold eyes darted to mine. I licked my lips and looked away. This was too much sexiness. My mind was on overload.

He stopped in front of her. “You're mine, mate.” He breathed. Cameron stopped. “What the fuck did he just say!” Cameron sounded so far away, distant from my mind. “It's him the one we've been waiting for!” Tori shouted excitedly. "How? Marcus was our mate. The moon goddess wouldn't bless me with another one." I told Tori in my head.

The boy pushed me against a wall, taking me by surprise. My breath escaped my lungs. Tori giggled. "He's strong too!" He pinned me against the wall. "Stop." I snarled. He froze for only a second then kept going. He pulled my head to the side. It was obvious, he was trying to mark me. I shoved him away. He fell flat on his butt at my feet. "Name." I ordered.

"Kain." He looked dumbstruck. Obviously lost in the mating bond. "Well listen Kain, there is no way we are mates. I had a mate." I said softly. Kain started growling. "No! My mate." I shook my head. "I don't reject you, but give me time to figure this out." I said. Kain frowned and nodded.

I regrouped with Cameron. "Do you think he's psycho? Faking a mate like that." I shook my head. "I felt it. Tori felt it, but it doesn't make sense. How could I be mated twice?" Cameron shrugged. "Don't tell anyone. You can tell the guys, but no one else." Cameron nodded.

Classes were tough today. I just couldn't focus. Tori got excited everytime she smelled Kain. She wanted to run up to him and mark him, but I still needed time to adjust. I sat at our lunch table. There was me, Cameron, Daniel, Brayden, Canary, and Tala. "So you have another mate?" Canary asked. 

I groaned. "I guess. It feels like a mating bond. Tori just wants to mark him and have kids. How did I get cursed with another mate?" I put my head down on the table. Brayden rubbed my back. "Girl, if I was you. We would be home having fun. You just don't get that lucky." Canary said. I lifted my head to glare at her.

"I don't even know him." I sighed. "Yes you do." Daniel started laughing. "No. No I don't." Everyone started laughing. Who was he? "Little K. That was Lil K." My jaw dropped. "No fucking way. I used to have a crush on him. Fate has a way of playing with me." Back in middle school I told him I liked him and he rejected me. Now I was rejecting him. We all started laughing. The cafeteria door opened, banging against the wall.

I didn't pay it any mind until Tori started howling. It was him. A loud snarl ripped through the air. Everyone at my table stopped. I felt hands rest on my shoulder. I looked up to see Kain growling at my friends. "Kain stop." His eyes snapped down to look at me. His features softened. "Pack." I asked. "I'm the alpha of the Waxing Moon Pack. The one fighting the rebellion."

I snorted. This was going to be funny. I had belonged to the Waning Moon Pack, before I became alpha of the Moonlight's Kiss. I had helped build the rebellion. "Is my pack not satisfactory?" Kain asked frowning down on me. "Yes it is. Anyway. These are my friends, you can't attack them."

Kain sat down next to me. "But he touched you. You're mine." I rolled my eyes. "I am not yours. I am my own. He can touch me because he is my friend." Kain started growling. "No one touches you." I sighed. "He can touch me. It's not like we share skin." Kain quieted, thinking.

"Fine, but do not expect me to like it." Kain got up and walked out of the cafeteria. I sighed the fight was over. I was mated to another alpha. Kain was just like Marcus, maybe worse. How would I make this work?
