Damian didn’t know what was going on with him. He was smirking and smiling at everything. Most of the things he said were true, but it was like he didn’t say anything; the words just came out of his mouth, like his brain and mouth were at 2 completely different speeds. It’s just my anxiety, he told himself.
The next thing he knew, he was going into his home, the closet, to show Xyla his Halloween costume. It was nothing special, just a simple devil costume. With its black horns and sharp fake teeth, it looked more like a vampire costume, but with the steampunk elements of arm guards and a corset.
"It's nothing that special, simple devil costume but I put my own elements to it to make it unique," Damian said, proud of the costume. Xyla stared at him. She nodded, her face unreadable. “What are you planning to be?” Damian inquired.
“I’m not sure yet. I mean there’s still 2 months to think. I’m not even sure if I’m doing anything for Halloween this year.” Xyla looked lost in thought. Maybe we’re not so different after all, Damian thought. “Anyways enough about me what about you?” Damian broke the ever piercing silence.
