Teagan
I stopped at a clearing. Kain and Daemon stopped with me. I let the strap of the bag fall out of my mouth. I shifted back and dressed quickly. Kain and Daemon followed suit. I sat on the ground. Rocks and twigs dug into my bottom. Kain sat next to me and Daemon sat across from me.
"Okay, hurry up I have to go back to my pack soon." I said. Daemon cleared his throat and nodded. "It can be one of two things. One you have human blood in you allowing you to mate with anyone, or the Goddess has a divine plan that involves you having kids." I but my lip to stop my giggles from escaping. The goddess wanted me to have kids, yeah right. I couldn't hold back anymore.
I burst in a fit of laughter, holding my stomach. "Me. Kids. Ha." I kept laughing. I felt unease roll off of Kain in waves. My laughter died away. I wiped my tears from my eyes and looked at Kain. "You . . . You don't want kids?" His voice sounded distant, hesitant.
"Well of course not. Child birth is hell, and raising them is torture." My voice raised accidently. "So you. . . So you don't. . . You don't want to bear my pups." My inside laughter died. That was what this was about. He wanted me to bear his pups. "No. Not really. Sorry." I looked down at my crossed legs. "I can be very convincing. Like with the kisses." I bit my lip. "No thanks." I breathed.
"You don't sound so sure." Kain growled. I felt a shiver run down my spine. "I'm not sure, but I don't do pups." I said. Kain nodded. "Come with me." Kain held his hand in front of my face. I lifted my head to look at him. "Sure." I followed him through the forest.
After a couple minutes we reached the city. "You're bringing me into human territory." I hissed through clenched teeth. Kain grinned and kept walking. I had no choice, but to follow him. I struggled to keep up with him. Even in human terms I was kinda short. After many 'pardon me's and 'excuse me's I followed Kain into a club.
I scanned the crowd looking for him, but he seemed to have vanished. I sighed and took a seat at the counter. I faced the dancing crowd. Someone would have to come looking for me. "Pardon Ma'ma. You want something to drink." I shrugged. "A scotch please." I stayed facing the crowd looking for any sign of that copper hair of his.
I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around. The bartender held out a glass. I nodded my thanks. The drink was gone in two seconds, burning a trail down my throat. The alcohol made me brave. If Kain wasn't going to find me, I was going to leave. A giggle caught my attention. My eyes drifted to the owner of that giggle.
Blonde, green eyed, tall, curvy. Tori started growling, but it wasn't the girl. It was who was holding her. Kain's hand slipped down her perfectly slim waist. I wanted to puke. Kain looked up, he grinned seductively when he saw me watching. The girl pulled his face down for a kiss. I turned my eyes away from them. We waited. . . What the fuck is he thinking?! Tori fumed. I leaned against the back of the chair, letting my face slip into a cool practiced calm.
We'll show him. Call Daemon. Dance with him. Make mate angry. Tori growled. I smiled to myself. That sounded like a plan. Daemon! I called through a mind link. It had been Kain's idea. Yes. He had been quick to respond. I need you to pick me up. I'm at a bar. Kain's. . .busy. I said the last part slowly. On my way. Daemon was reliable unlike some people.
After a couple rounds of tequila, voda, and scotch I felt better. Wolves technically couldn't get buzzed, but I was as close as I could get. I watch Daemon walk into the bar. A smile crept to my lips. I got up and the world spun. I felt strong hands wrap around my waist. When I was on my feet, I turned to look at my savior. It was Daemon. "Come dance with me." Even in my head my voice sounded funny.
Daemon shrugged, and led me to the dance floor. I pushed my back against his chest, and looped my arms around his neck. "Teagan. . . Are you drunk?" I laughed at his question. "Of course not! I just want to dance." I swayed my hips to the beat of the song. It was fast and required attention. Daemon's hands fell to my hips.
I spared a glance at Kain. He was glaring at us, his toy forgotten. I didn't care. He started it. Tori grinned with smug satisfaction. I leaned farther into Daemon's body. Kain didn't like it and I could tell. He was struggling to hold back, being that we were in a human establishment. Using my hands I guided Daemon's mouth to my neck.
I heard a low growling in the air. "Teagan I can't." Daemon tried to pull away. I pulled him closer. "I want you to." I growled, my alpha aura slipping out of control. I felt him submit. His mouth hovered over my neck. I moved my head to the side. Daemon was suddenly pulled away from me. "Let's go Teagan." Kain growled.
I shook my head. "I was enjoying myself, Kain." A wicked grin crept onto his lips. It looked out of place on him. "Come now Teagan. Don't make me do something I'll regret." I groaned in frustration and followed him out of the bar.
