We’re finally at the market. The ride over was my first time being in an automobile. It was nice to just sit back and not have to run to your destination. I did get a little sick, but it was nothing like how I used my superpower to travel last time.
On the way here, my male and female wolf started to interact with each other for the first time. The previous times that she was up, she would only be focused on getting out, but this time she was like my male, she was at peace.
Why? Could it be because it was daylight, or is she just getting stronger? My body aches and being warm settles down too. I feel completely normal now.
We start to unload the truck and put the wooden carves in the place that Sam had reserved. The Market is huge, tons of different booths are set up selling different things.
My male wolf all of sudden went into protective mode and wants to come out. I look around to see what's setting him off. I sense that most of the population at the market are werewolves, there are just a few humans mixed in.
Is this it? I’m going to be found out? Will today be the day that Sam will know? I cringe just thinking I'm going to be found out. I should've told Sam even though I lost my chance of it not being awkward. I shouldn’t have kept it a secret. I should also tell him that I can read his thoughts and have found out everything about his family. Guilt washes over me. I really should tell him soon.
"Hey boy, are ya ok?" Sam worriedly asked.
"I’m just feeling gu... a little sick." I said, almost letting how I actually feel slip.
Maybe right now the truth will come out with all these werewolves around and my life with Sam will be over soon. There is just no way that all of these werewolves won’t sense that I'm a werewolf.
I've been so lucky so far that Sam hasn’t realized it, but once these werewolves know that I’m a werewolf too they'll probably want to fight to protect their turf, thinking I'm here to take over, since they'll sense that I’m a strong werewolf. Ugh, why can't I just be a normal human?
Hours went by, I felt like I was living on the edge with every encounter that I had, but nothing happened. Nobody seems to be bothered by my presence no matter how close I get to them. The only reaction I got sometimes was they would jump when I came behind them to ask if they need help or information about the wood carving.
Sam has a lot of friends that he introduced me to. They were all werewolves and again no one seemed to realize that I’m one of them.
A lot of Sam's friends are more powerful than him, so my theory of why Sam couldn't tell why I'm a werewolf too, was because of him being the problem, isn't the case.
I'm starting to think that I might be the reason that nobody can tell that I'm a werewolf because I don't have any smell. They've never met a scentless werewolf before, which makes sense. My pack is the only scentless one. I know my ancestors didn't travel this way because of how hot the climate is.
My knowledge of regular werewolves is they use the scent of smell for a lot of things like finding their bond mate and pack members smell a little bit like each other. That's how you know a werewolf is part of a pack.
A regular werewolf will have their own smell and then have another smell to them that belongs to the leader of the pack, but just recently, since I've been meeting all these werewolves, I've discovered that there's a faint hidden smell that everyone has even if they're not a pack together.
I think this faint smell indicates that you're a werewolf if you have it. I'm thinking they don't use their instincts to tell if someone is a werewolf like how I was brought up. If they did, they would not be able to miss my wolf's strong presence.
Also, if they've met their bond mate, and they're together, they'll have each other's smell too. It makes sense. After all, when you're with someone for a while, the smell rubs off on you, at least if you're normal. My pack and I have never had any scent cling to us. We're always scentless no matter what, but if regular werewolves stop coming into contact with that smell, they will lose it, like Sam's mate and pack being gone. Sam just has his own scent on him now.
After the introductions, I tried to listen to see if I could read their minds, but it was silent. I wondered why, besides my pack, is it just Sam's mind that I can read?
The day went by pretty normal, except for two encounters. The first was with this man with blood red hair and had the blackest eyes that looked like they could steal your soul if you looked too long at them. He stood out in the crowd and I couldn't help but look at him. Our eyes met, I could see he had lust for me like he wanted to own every part of me. He wasn't a werewolf, but there's no way he was human. What was he?
My male wolf was ready for battle, putting his ears back and showing his teeth, wanting to take a bite at this man. He was already tasting blood and my female wolf was hiding like she didn't want this person to see her at all. Or maybe she didn’t want this person to be aware of her presence? Perhaps, she sensed something bad would happen if this man got a whiff.
Before I could do anything, the man was standing inches away from me and started to touch my face.
I froze, goosebumps went all over me, and for some reason it was like I was frozen like a statue. I couldn't do anything, my body wasn't listening to me. Luckily, one of Sam's friends saw and informed Sam what was happening. Sam stepped in and saved me from this creepy man that had this strange power over me.
The second encounter was with this most delightful smell that I'd ever experienced in my life. The smell made me feel safe for some reason and both of my wolves loved it. My female had the urge to go find the source of it, and roll all over it to make herself smell just like it. My male wanted to claim it and make it ours. I felt like I needed this smell forever in my life to be complete.
When I was about to let my instincts take over to follow the smell, Sam flew past me and I hurried to read his mind wondering where he was going, but in his mind he was shouting not very nice words. Why was he mad? The only time Sam is ever mad is when he thinks about the killers that kill his loved ones. But with how angry he was, he needed some alone time, so I decided not to go after that delightful smell, because that was the same way Sam was headed.
I also couldn’t leave the stand with nobody watching it. When he got back, the smell was gone and I didn’t smell it for the rest of the day.
In Sam's thoughts, I couldn't read what he was so angry about. Nothing else happened after that.
"Boy, start packing up the truck! I just heard my friend's son, who I was telling ya about, is going to college next year. I'll bring him over to introduce ya to him and ya can ask all yar questions about college. He's a nice boy and will help ya." Sam told me and left without my reply. He's dead set that I'm going to go to college.
The boy he brought back is the most adorable werewolf boy I've ever seen.
