"Shit, I forgot we were in a call," Callie whispered, more to herself.

"Callie? What was going on? I could only hear, talk to me." I searched her face, trying to figure out what happened. Callie put her hand over her mouth and I saw chains behind her near her head. Was she at a park, too?

"My sister, she always hangs out with this guy and my mom was bringing her home and that was them getting back and fighting..." Callie spoke, but she was looking at something in front of her that I couldn't see.

"Well, it seems like we both go to parks when we're sad, huh?" I let out a pathetic chuckle, and Callie smiled for a second before it vanished. "About your dad..."

"I don't want to talk about it," Callie said, suddenly super sharp. She sighed. "Sorry. I'm not in the mood to talk about it, Harper."

"Of course," I cut in before she felt worse about it. "I totally get that, and that it hurts, but by the sound of it, he doesn't deserve you, okay?" I waited for her to look at me and when she did there were tears in her eyes and I smiled sadly at her. "Now, you wanted to know why I was sad?"

Callie wiped her eyes and nodded. "Yeah."

"Well, my friend, Dray, started hanging put with her old friend who, to give context, are bullies and bullied me before Dray left them to be friends with me. Shar started hanging out with them after we fought at her house last night I guess and it seems she's going to bully me now, too. So, that's why I was sad and crying, because I passed them on the way here, waiting for you to wake up."

"This call went extremely south." Callie wiped her eyes, and I noticed something.

"Is that a nose piercing I see?" Callie looked at herself and laughed.

"Yes, I have a nose piercing, don't judge me." Callie's smile was becoming happier each second.

"I could never judge you." We just looked at each other until I heard a slightly familiar voice call to me. It was weird not watching people and instead video calling Callie. I looked up to who was calling to me and saw a girl I didn't know. She had long golden hair and eyebrows, with dark eyes, and flowers in her hair. It felt weird to see her very obviously wearing makeup because Dray and I never wore it.

"Harper, are you listening to me?" She asked as she came up to me. I looked at Callie with a brow raised and she shrugged. I looked back at the golden girl.

"Uh, who are you?'

"You don't know who I am? We've only been in the same school since primary." She pouted and I slowly shrugged myself. She sighed. "Marona, that's my name. Marona Wilson."

"Sorry, Marona, but I don't remember you ever in school." My school was small, and mostly people watched, so if she went to my school for so long I would've noticed her.

"Harper?" Callie asked from my phone and I looked back to her.

"Sorry, yeah?"

"Do you want to continue this later? You have company by the sound of it." Callie smiled at me and I smiled back, subconsciously picking at my eyebrow.

"Yeah, that'd probably be best."

"Okay, then I'll talk to you later." She waved at me and I waved back, then she ended the call.

"Who was that?" Marona asked.

"Uh, a friend from the states."

"Aren't online friends dangerous? And why the states of all places? It sucks there. Too hot." I frowned.

"You've been?"

"Yeah, a couple years ago. We were only there for like a week and I couldn't wait to leave. Like I said, too hot there."

"Um, do you know where in the states you were?"

"Let's see..." She thought. "Sorry, all I can remember is it started with an I." She shrugged.

"It's fine. So, Marona, if you've been in the same school as me for so long, why is this the first I'm seeing you, and why are you talking to me now?"

"Well, I always knew you and Dray were close, even best friends, but when I overheard what she said I figured you'd need a friend."

"I'm- I'm sorry if this," I signalled between us, "sounds weird, but I'm a people watcher. I watch people more than I talk to most of them and if we had gone to school our whole lives, I would know who you are, who your friends are, and possibly your birthday, maybe even your middle name. So I apologise, but the fact that I can list all the people in my year, the year behind me, and the year ahead of me, but I don't know who you are, so I don't believe you." I had a great memory, which helped with that, but I really was a people watcher. If I've had even one class or a lunch with you, I knew the basics of you.

Marona looked more shocked than weirded out at all I knew. She got a determined look in her face, then, "Who is Marissa Penelope's younger sister?"

"Sarah Anderson."

"What?"

"Their mom, Jessie, had an affair with Matthew Anderson, and Sarah lives with him, not knowing who her mother is. Jessie claimed to be on a business trip from just before you could see her bump to after she was born. Marissa knows, though, because she caught them but they didn't see her, so they think no one knows. Any other question?" Marona looked shocked.

"Does Marissa keep contact with Sarah?" She asked as we started walking.

"I don't think so. If she really did, it would indicate to them that she knows and cause drama, but I'm sure she keeps her own tabs on her."

"You know, I meant Allison when I asked."

"I know, but I figured if I talked about Sarah instead then you wouldn't ask as much. I'm not a fan of talking, contrary to what it seems now."
