His wounds were sore, to the point that he could barely lean against the wall. Not knowing what to do, Robert, tried to find something to reflect with, it didn't matter if it was the glass of a car or the window of a business, he only needed to see himself for a moment, nothing more.

He found a car parked in an alley and went to it to see his injuries, cautiously, he approached the car while removing his jacket. It was a very beautiful car; but somewhat dirty, it was from the "Ford" brand. Walking, almost on tiptoe, he was able to approach the rear view mirror, he lifted the dirty shirt he had on, being able to see his injuries. He didn't like what he saw.

He had lost a lot of blood, which luckily no longer came out; but the wounds could be at risk of gangrene if they were not taken care of immediately.

He sighed when he saw that beautiful car and said, in a low voice:

"If they gave me the opportunity I could fix you, leave you in perfect condition; but it seems to me that I will never be able to do it"

in complete silence, he withdrew from the place.

He knew he couldn't go to a hospital. They would easily find out there. He had to remove those wounds himself, somehow.

During his walk he saw a piece of glass on the ground and had a crazy idea.

There was a jar of fire near the docks of the city. Companion kept barking with happiness.

"Yes, I know it's crazy, Mate; but if I don't then I'll be the one who stops being by your side and I don't know what you think; but I don't like the idea of leaving so soon" spoke Robert , with a tone of genuine concern

He approached, with the edge of that glass in his hands, to the fire heating it a little, just a little, it could be that the glass would explode; but it didn't matter. Better that it explode outside than inside.

He put the glass that was almost red-hot, burning his hands, on his skin and began the operation that, unfortunately, would have to be blind.

He felt agonizing pain as that hot edge dug into his back; but he continued to dig into her skin, burning it, until he felt the steel of the projectile, with a cry of pain, he pulled that dirty metal from his body.

"One ... less" Robert moaned with a smile, Companion barked at him in concern "I only have ... one more"

He resumed that painful job heading where the other gunshot wound was. The burning of the glass in his hand and on his body was greater this time. He was within reach of fainting; but he would continue or die trying.

He fumbled until he found the other projectile and, with another cry of pain, pulled it from his body. Companion no longer barked, now he howled when he saw how his friend agonized over that madness he was committing.

"I just… have… to burn… the wounds" Robert replied to Companion with a weak tone of voice, he was feeling tired

This time he took a wooden stick and heated it until it was on fire. Breathing heavily, he put the wood on the wounds and they healed immediately.

Robert screamed, dropping the wood and trying not to fall; but it was unsuccessful because it fell to the ground. He heard, from afar, the sirens of the police approaching. That was a bad sign, especially if a police officer was the cause of this problem. With great effort he got up, as best he could, and began to flee. he escaped feeling, again, an agonizing pain as the sirens were heard closer. Not knowing how to get out of this situation, he decided to jump into the water and hide in the port, Companion jumped to his side to swim to where he was hiding.

They were silent for several minutes until the sirens sounded again and they moved away from where they were.

"I ... think ... they ... are ... gone" Robert groaned as he held onto one of the wooden posts of the pier. Before he could say another word, he lost consciousness and sank into the sea.

And he had the most horrible vision he could see in his life.
