School dropout

School dropout

Dec 24, 2020

Finally the end of year exam was over,it was time to go home and I  had not come up with a solution yet! But I went home anyway. I did not carry a bag or anything at all and made sure I got home late looking shaggy and tired when asked what happened by my parents,I lied that I got robbed including my school bag that had my books and important documents including my school report form and money, that I even had to walk home since I couldn't afford the bus fare. Judging from my look,my parents got convinced. I succeeded in hiding the truth about the end of year exam.

It was time to go back to school,My mum walked me to the bus station gave me some advice on the way. She insisted that I should work hard so that I could have a bright future and help her too I listened to all of that like a good girl but in my mind I had already made up my mind,I would not go back to school instead I planned to use the pocket money given to me and school fees to move to No Law town ( it's the naughtiest town ever ,located at the coastal area less activities during the day but very busy at night)

I planned to get a job there, earn money then go back to school...I regretted everything that I had done, all the choices I had made but I still couldn't bare to tell my family the truth so I planned to tell them everything after I had succeeded on righting my wrongs.

I found a nice hostel and settled down...I changed my contacts too to avoid any calls from school. My parents could not be contacted either because they did not have phones and during my admission,I had given non existent address so even letters from school would not reach my parents. I began my job hunt but I was just a school dropout now with no qualifications...that meant I could not get a white collar job!

I had made friends with a certain young man who lived at the same hostel as me,his name was Pat .I had lied to him that I was on attachment to a particular five star hotels . Lying about that was easy because I always woke up early everyday ( going for job hunt) and come back later in the evening on the other hand he was always sleeping during the day and went to work at night . I later got to know he was a DJ at a night club.

I was running out of money and had not found a job yet during our conversation with Pat I told him that I was not getting paid at my "internship" and asked him if he could help me find a part-time job. He agreed to help.

Three days later, Pat asked if I was interested in being a waitress in a night club because there was a vacancy at his work place. I was in no position to be choosey so I agreed . The next day he took me there . He had already talked with his boss so I was not interviewed I begun working immediately.

That is how I got my first job...in a night club as a waitress.

So this is a pretty chilled out journal like telling of a girl's life. Not exactly what I tend to go for. But I'm genuinely invested in where this goes. Keep it up.
