Adonael looked at Ken as they sat in the living room. Ken stared right back. "Um. Yes, Adonael?" He had said, Adonael's golden eyes still right on him. Then, Adonael lowered his eyes as if he had something against Ken. Like he was planning on interrogating him right then.
"...Who is this?" Adonael said as he slid over a picture of a young Ken and another taller young man. They both were standing by a Christmas tree, Ken kissing the taller man's cheek. Oh my. These must have been taken when Ken was 21. He had just graduated from college then. He believed Michael had been 10. Ken grabbed the picture and shook his head. "He is...an ex-boyfriend of mine," Ken said slowly.
Adonael frowned. He crossed his arms. "...Do you think he's more handsome than me?" He mentioned. "What is this? Adonael, do NOT tell me you're jealous." Ken said, glaring at him. "He was a boyfriend in my last year of college. He cheated on me that same year; I haven't thought of him in years." He said quickly, putting the picture down.
"Answer the question, Mr. Richardson," Adonael said, glaring playfully at him. Kenneth rolled his eyes. "Oh my god." He threw up his arms. "No. Okay? You happy?" He said, crossing his arms too. Adonael smiled slowly, "I know it." He said smugly. Ken wanted to roll his eyes again, but he smirked instead. He stood up and walked over to Adonael. The long-haired black man looked up at Ken and smiled at him.
"Um...What are you doing?" He said. Ken climbed onto Adonael's lap; his legs spread a bit, so he faced Adonael head-on. He leaned in, "What about me? How many of your...ex-lovers have looked better than me then?" he said, wrapping his arms around his neck. Ken stared directly into Adonael's eyes. It was like Adonael had snapped from his usual arrogant self into his adoring self. His eyes widened slightly, "None of them. I swear to it. I swear that none are even in the same lane as you. You shine brighter than you can ever imagine...The rest of them are nothing to me." And he had pulled Ken closer, enough for Adonael's head to be cuddling into Ken's chest. "You are one hundred percent perfect...."
There he went again. Adonael's weird obsession with Kenneth. If Kenneth asked, Adonael would bend over backward for him. He already did. Ken smiled down at him, knowing the outcome of what Adonael had said. He looked pleased and had run his fingers through Adonael's long hair. "Thank you, Adonael...That's enough." He said happily. "You're such a baby." He scoffed slightly. Adonael smirked a bit, "A baby? That's how you think of me?" He let out a laugh, and Ken laughed with him.
Ken knew Adonael was perfect for him too.
