The Blue-Eyed Adonis

DARRYL'S PERSPECTIVE

I paid the cab driver after he pulled off in front of the S tower. And I am struck of the same melancholy yet again. I sighed and headed at the elevator.

I would see Blue again. And if I'm fortunate enough, I might even see him making out with Claire.

Hush Darryl! I scolded myself and rolled my eyes for being such a masochist at times... Well, somehow I find comfort in hurting myself emotionally. Pathetic, I know but it seems to be the only way to cope with it.

I took another deep breath and conditioned myself that I have to deal with all of this pain over and over everyday. But I know, my stupid heart will soon let go and move on. I know it will. Maybe by the pain it feels it will learn and poof! Just like that, foolishness over Blue Sanders will vanish in thin air.

The elevator let out its familiar 'ting' and its door opened, giving me a view of the executive office and I stepped out.

However, to my dismay, I saw Blue talking to Laila, dictating something. My heart then beats like it only does for him and I had to take deep breaths just to pacify myself. Well, of course, why would I not see him, this is his office!

But damn, my eyes seems to follow my heart's screams. I felt rooted over the floor. I swallowed as my gaze landed on his face, his jaw, his lips, his nose... ugh, the list could go on. I wanted to run to him and hug him. I want to feel his lips over mine again. I want him to encase me inside his arms. I want him to make me beg and melt right there because I just love it. I just love every bit of everything he does to me-the way he makes me shiver with his warm breaths and the way he dominates me-I love them all.

I would like him to make me squirm in his touch again. Because I like it when he does it rough. I just love it.

For a moment, I felt lost under the trance I created. As if in a slow motion, he tilted his head and our eyes met. There, in his blue eyes, I cannot decipher what they are saying let alone fathom his thoughts. He is unreadable and cold. He seems to be aloof now.

I want to have you back. I want you to chase me again because I would gladly surrender in your arms.

He looked away. Ouch.

Thankfully, Claire entered the scene with a cup of steaming coffee in her hands. And as she entered, she talked to me.

"Darryl, you're here. How did it go?" She asked warmly that took me out of my reverie.

But before I talked, I cleared my throat first for having a lump in there.

"I-it went well, I guess." I shrugged.

"That's good." She exclaimed as she handed the coffee to Blue. She looked at him and he looked at her. There was something in those stares. And with that sight, a lump formed in my throat with tears threatening beside my lids. Darryl, stop being a sissy! I hissed at myself.

I looked away.

"Uh, Darryl, may I have the envelope now, so I could arrange the files for tomorrows meeting?" Claire asked in a friendly manner.

No! I almost blurted out. I held onto the envelope tighter. This is my job! I should be the one doing it.

"Darryl?" She asked.

I snapped out of my trance, silently scolding myself for being such an ass. Claire is such a good person. She even has this beautiful face I have ever laid eyes upon. And I know, behind her brown eyes is an intelligent mind every other woman would be jealous of. And what am I against her beauty and intellect?

I'm nothing.

I sighed and put up a smile. I hope it's not as fake as I imagined. "Here." I handed her the envelope.

"Thank you." She said.

She's so friendly and I am such an ass for being intimidated with her.

I would vote for Claire as the perfect girl for Blue.

Sadly, my heart won't agree and right now, it's screaming when I saw both of them entered Blue's private office.

"Darryl." Laila called out that made me look away from the tinted glass door where both of them disappeared.

"Yes?" I asked quizzically.

"You left your phone." She said. "Here." She handed it to me.

"Thanks." I said. Then I frowned at the several messages from an unknown number.

Hey Darryl, it's Mason.

So, this is his number huh.

Don't forget to ask your boss

-Mason

Crap. That reminds me. I still have to ask Blue. Sigh. I wish he was the one who asked me out.

...

I stared at the two of them snickering at each other. Had I known that Blue and Claire are having a good time with each other now, I shouldn't have had entered. But, he shouldn't have said 'come in' in the first place. Or he just wants me to see him and Claire going so intimate. Does he really want to torture me?

Cut it McKinley! You're just overanalyzing things.

I had to clear my throat twice before speaking. Claire stood and went to look something. "You need something?" Blue asked.

"Uh, I just want to ask your permission." I said.

"For what?"

"Uh, I would like to go out for dinner tonight, my-uh-friend invited me-"

"Friend? Who?" he said.

Crap. Why does he have to ask that?

"S-Sarah." I swallowed at the lie. I just hope it sounds believable.

"Okay." He said. "But be sure to be back before 11."

I nodded.

...

I stepped out of the guest room. I just finished grooming myself for the dinner. I glanced at my wristwatch. 6:27.

I closed the door carefully and headed out. I tucked my skinny jeans and once again looked over myself if I look okay. Hmm. I think it's enough.

I'm on my way.

I hit send.

Can't wait to see you. His reply.

Uh huh. I rolled my eyes. Why did I agree to have dinner with this guy?

"Darryl." I heard a very familiar masculine voice that stopped me on my tracks. And my heart!

I turned. "Y-yes?"

He stared at me. What now? He was holding a rolled magazine in his left hand while his right was tucked inside the side pocket of his gray sweat pants. He was wearing a white shirt that hugs his entire body, outlining his prominent, broad shoulders and chest. His eyes seemed to glitter under the dim lit room.

"Be careful." He uttered.

I was taken aback. Say what? "I will, thanks." I said.

I turn my back on him and headed on the door. Before I stepped out, I took a deep breath. I scolded myself for smiling after hearing him said that. I'm just assuming.

I sighed.

MASON'S PERSPECTIVE

My phone rings.

"Greg?" I asked

"Sir, I have the result for Darryl McKinley."

"Go on."

"The subject has a full name of Darryl James McKinley. He was born in..."

I was not able to hear the rest because I put down my phone and hung up. Why? Because I just saw the most beautiful creature come in the restaurant.

He was wearing a simple polo shirt and a skinny jeans partnered with his vans. He looked around and why does he have to twitch that lip? He just looked like a teenager- a cute one so to speak. I cannot deny the smile forming in my lips.

I waved at him. He smiled. Sh't Darryl, you are so adorable, do you know that?

I walked towards him. "Hi." He said timidly. Aw.

"You look great." I said. You can think better than that Mason.

I held his forearm and took him outside. And the questioning look on his face is just so cute. Darryl, you're making me crazy.

"Where are we going? Aren't we supposed to have dinner?" He asked.

That innocence. Ugh.

"We are. But not here." I said but more like a whisper because I just said it in his ear. And damn, he smells so good.

"Huh? I thought-"

"Sshh." I cut him. "Trust me." I said.

"What? Hello, I just met you. I cannot just put my trust that easily." He said and took his arm away from my grasp.

"Ouch. Do I look not trustworthy enough to you?" I said teasingly.

He rolled his eyes. Damn, so cute. "Fine." He snapped.

I took him to my car.

DARRYL'S PERSPECTIVE

oh God. What have I gotten into? Is it the time to call the cops?

"Relax, you're so tensed. I'm not gonna bite..." He smiled and added "Unless you want me to."

And he chuckled. What on earth is wrong with this guy?

He drove for fifteen minutes while I keep on glancing outside and so far, it still looked familiar.

Then he pulled off.

"We're here." He said.

I looked and my jaw dropped upon seeing a five star restaurant. My clothes are out of place!

"Why here?" I asked.

"You deserve better." He smiled and guided me inside.

The maitre d' approached us but when he saw Mason, he smiled and guided us to the table in the corner.

And I absolutely liked the place. It smells of pine trees. And if I'll be on a date, I would pick this place.

Wait. We're not on a date right?

I looked at Mason who was looking at me too. His eyes were glistening due to his smile. For the first time I noticed his looks. He has a mischievous smile, a thick brow, and a manly jaw.

Wait, why am I checking him? This is just a friendly dinner.

I cleared my throat to ease the awkward silence between us. But the nerve, he is still staring at me.

I cleared my throat again. "Is there something in my face?" I asked.

And he chuckled. "None." He uttered and continued watching.

I swallowed again. Thankfully, the dish came. He said thanks to the server but damn, he didn't look away.

"So, how did you ended up working with Sanders?" He asked.

"Uh, I didn't really know that it was Mr. Sanders' company I was applying at that time. I uh, just knew recently. He, sort of, appointed me." I said.

"I see." He said and put his fork beside his plate. "Well, what if I ask you to work for me?"

"Why?" I asked.

"I just want to have you under me."

I stared at him. What does he mean by that?

"W-well, I think I do have a fine job. Thanks."

Do you really? Fine job when you're hurting everyday? Is that what you call a fine job?

"But I can give you a better one."

"Mr. Lewis, I signed a contract." I said matter-of-factly.

He sighed then smiled.

"I guess I'll wait then." He said.

"Wait for what?"

"You." He said while staring intently into my eyes. His brown eyes held mine.

I looked away and took the glass of wine as an excuse.

"You know, this place is beautiful." I said to change the subject.

"Yeah? I'm glad you like it." He said.

"I did." I said.

"I found this many years ago and I kind of said to myself that this is where I'm going to bring the special person on our very first date."

"Wow. That's nice." I said. He is a good person after all.

"Yeah. And I'm glad he liked it." He said as he smiled.

"Really? You brought him here already?" I asked again. I don't know why I feel interested. I just feel happy for him.

I don't care if he's gay. After all I'm gay as well. Haha.

"You know you look great when you smile." He said that caught me off guard. The F?

"So where is this special person now?" I asked.

He smiled. He seems to be amused. "I think you are not ready for that."

"What? Of course I am. You should have brought him here so I could meet him."

And with that, he laughed. "You are so adorable Darryl. I can't believe you are like this outside work." He mused.

And I snapped. Sh*t! Why am I acting this way?

Dang! I mentally slapped my forehead.

MASON'S PERSPECTIVE.

I can't believe him. He is so dense. Can't he feel it?

I stared at him with a smile playing on his lips. He is just so adorable. How would it feel to hear him squirm in pleasure under me?

I chuckled at the thought.

"You know what, come." I stand up and extended my arm.

"Where?" he asked. Aw. So innocent.

"Just take my hand." I said.

He took it reluctantly but still, it felt so soft. I would love to be touched by his hands. I would love to feel it over my body.

Shit! Why are my thoughts so dirty now?

"Wait, you want me to dance?" He asked as he saw the garden where several couples were dancing.

I nodded.

"What? No." He said and pulled his hand. Thankfully, I held it.

"You can't say no." I said and took him to a dim lit area.

"I don't know how to dance." He said bashfully. And wait, did he blush? Aw.

Darryl, you are making me crazy.

I pulled him into me. And it felt so good. He fits inside my arms. "I can teach you."

He looked up. And in situations like this, I am thankful that I am tall...

And his eyes.

Damn. I can't explain the feeling. It's pure bliss to have him here with me. And I'm slowly falling.

He's the one.

DARRYL'S PERSPECTIVE

I stared at him. Why is he acting this way?

Suddenly, he moved and took my hands and put it on his shoulders. He smiled.

The music is so damn good. And seems wrong. We're only having dinner right?

He guided my every step. And by the way, he held me against him with his hands on my waist.

"Wait. Why are we dancing?" I asked.

"Sshh." He said.

♬A deep breath

♬And baby steps

♬That's how the whole thing starts

♬ It's a long slow beautiful dance

♬To the beat of a heart

The song feels so good. But it doesn't seem so right.

Blue.
