This world is governed by kings and popes, much like what you call medieval times. Our hero Lev will face many hardships but also many rewards in the near future.

As they arrived back at the small town known as “Dale” they were greeted by many battered and bloody soldiers.

“What happened here” the nobleman that lev was traveling with asked the nearest knight, this knight was different from the rest who had shiny armor this knight had the gold armor with little shining dots that were suspected to be some sort of gem.

“We were fighting in the forest and we were ambushed by a pack of lions.” This was not that uncommon because normal beasts such as the animals in your world were very easy to find in the forest. As the knight continued to tell stories to the noble man that was drenched in sweat, Lev started to look around and noticed that almost 50% of the present knights were severely injured.

“Were there only lions that attacked you?” lev asked the tall knight.

“Yes it was but there were an unnatural number of them. I was able to count at least 40.” the normal size of a pack of lions could barely hit 10, so needless to say 40 was just to many.

“And they seemed to be running from something.” this made lev shiver in fear because even the level 10 lizard monsters were near impossible for him to kill (for a reference lions are about level 15) if they could find out what the lions were running from it was doubtful that they could do anything about it, if they wanted to get rid of it they would need to ask the capital of their kingdom for a army. After a few moments of random chat between the nobleman and the knight levs team moved on to the central courtyard.

Large trees lined the yard with lush green bushes in the middle and benches around the bushes and trees.

“Here is your pay. Now leave me.” the nobleman that lev didn't care about enough to ask for his name demanded. He then handed them all 2 shiny silver coins

As Lev walked out of the yard and onto the main road he slowly approached a small house on the edge of the town. He walked in to find an empty house and nobody in it.

“I'm home” he got no response from anywhere and the house remained empty and without a sound.
