Two days after the arrests had been made, MSSV sent instructions through to Shirley that the special agents were to release the members of Harmony Who.
“You’ve got to be joking!” Damian said when he received the news.
“Why do they want us to let them go?” said Angelina, hard at working on a plan for their captives, working out a schedule to make sure they received food and attention.
“Listen to the recorded statement by Triunfo attached to the instructions.”
Duckwit Triunfo was the President of the Intelaxative corporation. It had been rumored he’d left Earth behind and was on the Harmony of the Stars spacehip. This message confirmed that to be true. Not only did Triunfo declare that the androids and other AIs on the ship were to be reclassified as robots, with “inferior status” to all human on board, he went a step further and gave Harmony Who permission to make it a feature for the band to kill their lead singer at the end of every one of their gigs, during their encore. Triunfo also stated, dubiously, this had always been the plan and he intended to be at Harmony Who’s next gig, where the band were to present Roxy’s replacement, Sonny boy Cybertron.
As an afterword, Harmony Who was all-over On-Board News, with the band celebrating their release and Stinger stating their forthcoming gig would end spectacularly with Cybertron tangling in the explosive charges set for the end-of-show fireworks. This, he said, would result in “the spectacular stage death” of their singer. Neither Damian nor Angelina went to the gig, but they heard tickets sold out within a day. Two months later the band were still on a roll and had worked their way through twelve new android singers, each of which had died violently at the hands of the band whilst on stage.
