Michael’s perspective
He kissed me! Zack kissed my cheek! I think I might die. Oh my god! I think I have a chance!
I walk out of the bathroom and sit back down at the lunch table. I catch Zack’s eyes lingering on me several times. I flash him a smile every time I catch him and he smiles back. The bell rings and I go to my next class. Zack consumes my thoughts for the rest of the day. I can’t seem to take my mind off him.
I think of him and me, together at a beach. He leans in and—
I almost run into a pole when someone grabs me and pulls me out of the way. “Thank you...” I trail off as I realize Zack pulled me out of the way. I throw my arms around him, hugging him. He hugs me back.
“You’re welcome. May I ask why we are hugging?” Zack says.
“Oh,” I say and let go. “Sorry. I was actually just thinking about you,” I admit.
Zack smirks. “Oh really? What exactly were you thinking?” Zack asks.
“No,” I say.
“Tell me!” Zack begs.
“Nooo!” I reply.
“Was it something about me?” Zack asks.
“Maybe,” I reply.
“Was it something sexy?” He asks.
“Not really?” I say.
“Hmmm.... did we... kiss?” He asks, smirking. My face turns scarlet. Zack smiles. “I can make that a reality,” He teases.
I groan and smile at the same time. “Don’t tease me like that!” I say.
“Why not?” Zach replies.
I smirk. “I’ll give you a sloppy kiss on the forehead if you do,” I say, half joking.
Zach smiles. “Um, can I walk with you? Like, to your house?” Zack asks.
I nod and smile. A little boy comes up behind Zack and grabs his hand.
“Zack! You almost left me! I’m telling mom when we get home!” The little boy says.
Zack groans. “I’m sorry, Trent. You know, I thought I’d notice the quiet when you aren’t around. Don’t tell mom, and I’ll let you play on my Xbox when we get home,” Zack says.
Trent nods. “Fine,” He says. He looks at me. “Who’s this?” Trent asks.
Zack smiles. “Just a hobo I found on the street, Trent,” Zack jokes.
I frown. “Really Zack? I’m not a hobo! If anything, you’re the hobo. I’m Michael. So, don’t come at me because I have a crush on you,” I blurt.
Trent looks confused. “Boys can’t have crushes on other boys,” Trent says.
“Yeah they can,” Zack and I say in unison. I blush and Zack smiles.
Trent looks at me, then at Zack. Trent shakes his head. “You two are too obvious,” He mumbles.
I look at Trent in confusion. Zack grabs my hand and we start walking towards his house. “We are going to my house to study,” Zack says.
I’m blushing and pull my hood over my head. “Okay, Zacky,” I say.
