Let It Rain (pt. 2)

Let It Rain (pt. 2)

Jan 13, 2021

He glared at me, finally getting up off the ground. I hope you know where you are and who I work for. Well? He thought he was being scary, I guess. Well, I know that you’re not a cop. You’re too dense. So, it must mean you work for my brother. His eyes widened in shock. Y - you’re the assassin Rain!? He began to stutter. I - I - I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was you. Please don’t kill me! It was really funny to watch this guy, seeing as he was about 6’2”, and the fact that he looked like a bodybuilder or a boulder. As he started to cry, I told him to shut up and stop sniveling or I really would kill him or at the very least knock him out so I didn’t have to listen to him whine. He instantly stopped, I even had to make sure he was still breathing. After dealing with the guard I was able to get in the door.

As she headed up the stairs, she came across her brother’s 2nd-in-command. Oh hey there, Blackjack. I need to see my brother. Is he in his office? He looked down at me. You know that I really hate that nickname. Stop using it. I’ve called him that for longer than I can remember. He’s almost like an uncle to my brother and I. Should I call you uncle instead? I just want to see my brother. You see, someone killed my husband and I want to know who did it and why. NOW MOVE! I pushed past him and continued up the stairs. He began to follow me. I didn’t care, I was ignoring him. As I neared the top floor I could see more bodyguards. Something was off. I raced up the last few steps and was pushing the others out of my way, when I saw my brother.

He had been stabbed. He wasn’t dead, nor even unconscious. He had been stabbed in the upper part of his arm, about four inches from the top of his shoulder. Brother! I yelled out as I shoved others out of my way to kneel down beside him. Brother, what happened to you? Who did this? He looked at me and pointed over to the corner of his office. I looked and that’s when I saw the dead man. That man said he had made one other kill last night. And when I questioned him, all he would say was that he had killed my best assassin. So I paid the police to keep it under wraps until I could find out what happened. But from the looks of it, he killed the wrong person, didn’t he? As I stared at my brother in disbelief I told him this. My husband is dead and I want to know who sent him! As I said the last line I pointed at the dead guy. And now my mother-in-law is at my house waiting for her dead son to come home. I haven’t told her about you, the mob, or the fact that her son was working for you as a drug runner. It would have been nice if you had told me about it as well.

Are you the one that called her saying that he didn’t come in to work today? He had a shocked look on his face. What are you talking about? I’ve never had him working for me. It was my turn to be shocked. Then why did he have a medallion with your insignia on it? He turned to his men and told them to go see if anything was missing. When they came back this is what they said. There is one medallion and a bunch of drugs that are missing. My brother looked at me, then someone from behind me said if that’s true it would be a death sentence anyway. I turned around to see Blackjack. Are you saying my husband got what he deserved?

Find out the truth NOW! Go to my house, look under the stairs and get what you need. Do NOT go in if my mother-in-law is still there. If you do, I will be the last thing you see. As I turned to walk out, I told my brother one last time that I wanted to know who the assassin was. I WAS PISSED. And, to top it all off, my mother-in-law was still at my house. I stormed in, ranting and raving about my brother, and everything that had gone wrong in the past 24 hours. When I saw her, I yelled at her to leave. Why should I! She half yelled back at me. I’m still waiting on my son to call me! Get out or I will kill you! I yelled back, starting to lose it. No, I’m not leaving until I talk to my son. She had started to yell back at me.

That was the last straw. I was going to kill her. I didn’t care if I were to go to jail or even got the noose. I started to contemplate on how to do it. Did I want to flat out stab her in the back or should I try for something that looks more like an accident? While I’m thinking, I can hear her yell out from the other room. Get off your lazy ass and make me something to eat! I couldn’t kill her in any way that would point back to me, so poison was out.

I yelled back. I’ll just get take-out, what do you want? She walked into the kitchen just so could look me dead in the eyes and then with a sneer on her face she said this. Chinese, you know it’s my son’s favorite, you know what to order. Now go, I’ll be in my room. As she walked out, all I could think about was how much I wanted to snap her neck. After I had ordered the food, I went out to where her car was, steak knife in hand.

I was going to make it look like her break-line was old and worn down. While I was under the car, one of my neighbors walked over thinking that I needed help. No, I’m fine. Just checking the oil pan, I thought it may have gotten a crack in it last night. I was using the serrated edge of the knife to fray the line, which also looked like a mouse or something had chewed it. Oh, and would you look at that, the oil pan had a small crack in it and had rust all over it. After getting out from under her car, I drove into town to get the food. The next day I got a call from my brother about the would be assassin. It had been a private contract and would take longer to find out who started the contract.
