It was only a few minutes since she said her gratitude, but it felt like hours. Even if she was thankful, the situation itself was still uncomfortable. No one wants to be in a room with a person that just said that they don’t like you. It’s weird, and there’s no way to act like its nothing. Unable take anymore of this silence, Ash asked Emily a question hoping to end this silence.
“What were you doing in that alley anyway?” he asked, “If you don’t mind me asking.”
“...Roe didn’t like how I acted towards him so he sent his lackey to take care of me,” she answered right off the bat.
“Roe…?” Ash felt like he heard that name somewhere.
And, he didn’t think that she would answer him so honestly like that. Then it hits him where he heard that name before. It was when they were heading to the soccer field and someone threw a ball at them with a nasty attitude.
But why would she answer me so honestly?
Emily may have read his mind, because her next few words answered his question.
“He’s probably going to go after you three next,” said Emily with a calm voice.
“Us?” Ash had no idea what she was talking about.
He thought for a second before understanding what she was talking about, “You mean me, LJ, and Orpha?”
Emily nods. Ash tilts his head, confused, “Huh? Why?”
“Because he’s just like that,” said Emily, “People who gets on his nerves, he gets back at them.”
“But I didn’t do anything,” said Ash, “LJ and Orpha did all the talking.”
“So what,” said Emily, “You’re their friend. Obviously, you’ll get dragged into it.”
For the first time, Ash never had regretted being friends with LJ and Orpha. He wasn’t good at fighting, so if he gets dragged into what had happened to Emily, he wasn’t going to survive. So what if he was a man, he’s a weak one! The muscle of their group was LJ anyway! He was an Alpha so obviously he was the muscle of the group!
“Haa…” Ash rubs his face, feeling uneasy.
“So, you’re saying that Roe was getting back at you?” said Ash, “That’s why you were fighting in the alley?”
“That too,” said Emily, “And they also wanted a piece of me but I refused so I beat them up as much as I could.”
“A piece of you?”
“Happens all the time when people finds out that you’re an Omega,” said Emily as though it was normal to be attack, “People whether they are Alpha or Beta wants to know what an Omega in heat tastes like.”
Ash felt a chill down his spine. He wasn’t a physically strong man, and was an Omega. There was no way he could get away should Roe and his lackey come after him like they did to Emily. His trembling body was spotted by Emily. She looks at him, “As long as you’re not alone, his lackey won’t come after you.”
“Thanks for trying to make me feel better,” said Ash, “But that still doesn’t make the uneasy feeling go away.”
“Just what did you do to make you a target of Roe?” Ash asked.
“I didn’t sleep with him,” Emily answered immediately.
“That’s it…?” Ash felt disgusted.
Emily didn’t expect Ash to believe her. People would ask her if that was true, or maybe she did something else. Just because she was an Omega, that doesn’t mean that she should open her leg for anyone. That was just pure disgusting. However, this was the world they lived in, where Omega were seen nothing else but a breeding tool.
“We should have punched him,” said Ash with a pissed off look, “That scumbag, forcing others is just the lowest.”
Emily gave out a small laugh, causing Ash to be baffled by her. He had no idea what he said that made her laugh, but her smiling face wasn’t that bad looking. In fact, she looked better when she smiled.
“Sorry,” said Emily as she was stuffing back her laugh, “But Hazel said the same thing too.”
“Hazel did?”
Emily nods as her laughter slowly stops, “I thought that you were a creep, but maybe you’re not so creepy after all.”
Ash felt somewhat offended by her words, but at least now he was on a better standing in her book. He decided to let that slide since she was a patient. Without realizing it, they started chatting away as though their dislike and awkwardness towards each other wasn’t there in the first place. Someone was standing outside of the door to Emily’s room, watching and listening to them.
…
“I said to mess her up until she couldn’t lift her head anymore and what did you morons do!” a young man yelled out as he kicks someone under his feet hard, “You ran as soon as the police came?!”
BAM!
The person that was doing all of the yelling was Roe. He wanted to get back at Emily for embarrassing him earlier as well as the past grudge he had against her. He was a proud and noble Alpha from a long linage of outstanding Alpha. And yet, she an Omega dares to fight back against him!
He wanted her to know her place. For her to beg him for mercy and be thrown away like trash after he was done breaking her. But nothing was going his way. Nothing has ever since that woman, Hazel came into the picture. She was nothing but a damn Beta, and yet she too had the guts to retalite! He wanted to tear them into piece and teach them a lesson. However, his minions were just as useless!
He kicks them a few more times before he finally stopped. Someone from the side gave him a water bottle to clench his dried throat. Roe pulls back his hair that was covering his face.
“Bring me the information regarding those three rats,” said Roe.
Someone did as he ordered and quickly brought out data paper to him. He scans it quickly and smirks as he stops and looks at Ash’s information.
“Another Omega?” he smiles wickedly, “Moreover, he’s a male Omega.”
He crumbles up the paper and throws it right into the trash bin. The people beneath him slowly get up. He splashes the remaining water in his water bottle at them.
“Bring me this Male Omega, and do it right this time,” said Roe with a threatening tone.
