Dear Theo,
Thanks for your letter. I thought it was really sweet. And as much as I’ve always wanted to be confessed to, I’ve also always wanted to receive a love letter. I know, it’s sappy. But I’m glad to have gotten it from you, instead of some other guy. It was very romantic, I could really tell you cared.
First, I want to thank you for all the super kind things you said about me. I want you to know, I think you have a nice smile too. And personally, I really enjoy your sense of humor. Sure, it’s not for everyone, but no one’s really is. And I don’t think your jokes are too insulting either. I’d say they're… adventurous.
Next, you know how you asked me if I remembered all that stuff? Well, of course I remember! Did you really think I’d forget? (I have to say, when I saw you carrying all those books by yourself, I was shocked. I still can’t believe Mr. Daniels asked you to do that single handedly.)
As for why I decided to sit with you: when we were carrying those textbooks, you know how we started chatting? I had always thought you were a bit stand-off-ish, but then I realised that you were just shy. Once I got you talking though, I knew you were a swell guy. Definitely better than most of the other guys at school, that’s for sure. I sat next to you in math because I wanted to talk with you again, and get to know you better.
Now, lastly, this is a response to your letter, so I need to address the main thing right?
I like you too.
Wow, that felt good to say. Write? Regardless, I feel the same.
As I said, when I got to know you, I figured out I had misjudged you, and by a lot. (But, to be fair, you hardly smile. Or even laugh! It’s really such a shame.) You also gave me some great advice, when I complained to you about a fight my friend and I had. You helped so much that time, thank you.
I’m so glad we got to be friends, Theo. We haven’t really known each other for long, but you mean a lot to me.
So, Theo. Would you like to go see a movie together over the weekend? Let me know in math. Or through another letter. Either is fine.
Best wishes,
Beca
