“You are all alone now, Okarg.” Malach sneered. “They killed your mate and the rest of your pack is dead or scattered. I am all that you have now.”
“Why didn’t that giant kill you?” He asked; hate glaring in his eyes as he stood between his captive and this intrusion.
“That giant is a Diabane... one of those powerful war-mongers from beyond the Iron Mountains. And he thought that I was already dead.” Malach’s resentful laugh aggravated him no end.
“Why would a Diabane warrior hunt Laichanan?” Okarg growled, moving in front of his captive, as if in an attempt to hide her from Malach’s view.
“That warrior was hunting us down after we raided their outpost a few days ago.” Malach yawned and slid further back against the wall. “He has gone now... gone back to where he came from with the lopped off heads of our slain kin.”
“You were responsible for all this from the beginning?” Okarg gnashed his teeth. “I curse the day I considered you and your mangy pack for allies.”
“You may have to consider that again...”
“Never... be gone, lest I slay you where you sit.”
