One moment I was saying 'I love you' to Prince William and the next thing I knew was that I was lying wide awake on my back in my bed. The morning was unusually quiet. I could distinctly hear the sound of birds in the background and the low humming sound of the motor of my ceiling fan, which was the only thing in my vision in this position. A pushed myself upright and leaned against the backrest of my bed. I far-too-quickly realized I was back in my room. It was a dream after all. A part of me was hoping that I had been sent to another world like in those webcomics. I glanced at my alarm clock. It was 9 am. Sighing, I got out of my bed and started to get ready to meet Julian. I couldn't be late this time around. Soon enough, I was ready and had stepped out of the house a bit too early. My parents were, apparently, out on some business trip and since I was fast asleep, my brother tagged along with them too. So I had to go and have some breakfast before I meet Julian.
Julian had just transferred to our school. He is cool, calm and collected. I have seen him in a disarray ever, even when ten people are simultaneously talking to him or more like asking him about stuff. He is this nice, sweet, kind and, as I had said earlier, charismatic boy who everyone adores, that is except Kaden, my best friend from elementary.
Kaden despises; almost hates Julian, for some reason. I guess it was because he was the most popular guy in school until Julian showed up, but never I never thought that he enjoyed the attention that much to get all petty over it. Regardless, he hadn't given a straight answer about that yet. Kaden is handsome, no doubt, I also had a crush on him at one point, which I shrugged of because he was my best friend and I didn't want to make things awkward between us. The only problem was that he had this aura screaming "aloof" around him. I have heard many people calling him unapproachable or hard-to-get because of this. Nevertheless, he had a caring and kind heart inside all of this and was pretty dorky actually.
I walked into a café. Kaden worked here. I went to the counter and greeted Kaden, who coincidentally had a shift that morning.
"What brings you here, Amelia?", He said, as he arranged the cups at the back of the counter. Yes, you guessed it, my name is Amelia (really author? You gave my name out after seven chapters!?)
"Why should I tell you that, Mr. Barista-I've-never-met?", I said, jokingly. He stopped what he was doing and gave me the 'look'. If you have a best friend you know how threatening the 'look' is. It low-key screams that 'STFU or else I am cutting all ties with you.'
I instantly felt shivers go down my spine and I blurted out, "My parents and brother have gone out and I need to feed myself. Now please don't cut all your ties with me!"
He snorted and then burst into laughter. "Oh my God! You literary say the most nonsensical things. Cutting ties over such a small thing? What kind of person do you think I am?", He said wiping a tear off the corner of his eye, "Anyways, you looked quite dressed up. Where you going? Don't tell me it's with that Julian-guy."
I looked out of the window, too embarrassed of what I just said to look him in the eyes, "Yes, I am. We have a study session together."
I was half-expecting him to retort and ask me to not go but all I was met by my silence. I turned around and saw him standing in front of him, his brown eyes now piercing right into my blue eyes. I felt my heart raced as he raised his hand, which moved in my direction and then... settled on my shoulder. He tilted his head before saying, "Why not have your study session here with me?"
