Dainzel felt like they were flying as the powerful arms of the huge Diabane pulled the rope back up with an ease only his kind could.
She knew that an Alvaine would never tolerate or even acknowledge the presence of a Diabane at such close proximity, and yet she felt strangely pleased to be in the company of this Kadrek.
Dare she express such thoughts among her kind; her banishment from home would be a permanent one.
She pushed the injured boy over the rim of the well and Kadrek hauled him up with no difficulty.
She followed him out and lightly stood at the edge as the Diabane laid the boy down with the others surrounding them.
Dainzel felt a sudden surge of what she could only call warmth at the concern these Humaine showed for one of their own in peril.
If only the Alvaine shared such sentiment, maybe there would still be some hope in the world.
“So beautiful and you have such a marvellous blue sheen.” A melodious yet weak voice sounded in wonderment to her left and she turned sharply. “You are Alvaine.”
“I am, and you shouldn’t be up and about so soon, little one.” She addressed the pretty golden haired girl standing beside her.
