The figure that seemed like an angel to all of them was completely floating above without moving an inch. The golden ring placed atop its head, also continued expanding. Yuro just stood astounded as things happened before his eyes.
In the blink of an eye, the golden halo stopped and emitted a blinding ray of bright light, blocking all of their sights.
“What the hell!?”
“What the fuck is happening!?”
“Hey, what the…. So bright!”
The first thing he saw after opening his eyes slowly, was a number of towering pillars, standing far distant, and was placed evenly from each other. And the field enclosed by these pillars, was a vast pile of dirt and sand. Since he had little knowledge about greek architecture, even though he had just researched this things, he had never gave any thoughts on which was the structure it was similar with. But nonetheless, it had some resemblance to him.
Wait…does it mean we are at some kind of a much larger colloseum? He thought while idling at the middle.
Truth to be said, he had been standing near the corners of a 500 hundred meter elliptical ancient stadium, that probably had been designed next to the famous roman colloseum, but unlike the damaged arena in their real world, the colloseum he’d been staring as of now were completely new and fresh to his eyes.
“Hey… this is a colloseum right!?” A female player standing 185cm asked, she was wearing a pretty revealing red outfit, with a hazel hair and white skin.
“Its obvious you red hag. Are your eyes starting to age huh!?” With a sharp tone, Yuro shotted some pretty nasty words towards the “female” player.
This was just a regular come up he had been making when talking with other people, but in reality, he was an antisocial boy who never had even muttered bold words, he was the type to stay silent to the point that it was viewed as rude by people around him.
That’s why I hate that side, it makes talking tiring. But whenever I was inside Aegis Synchro, I felt like living how I lived at that side makes no sense. Either way, I still hated having conversation with others. But for the sake of the persona I am wearing, and embodying, I have to.
“Who are you calling an old hag? Do you think its cool?”
“…No, not at all. But I will call an old hag an old hag if she looked like one and act like one.”
“J-just shut up, you edgy swordsman.” The old hag shouted, bending her legs a little as if she was forcing the words out from her mouth.
Rather than responding with more phrases, he just grin and smothered at the flustered female player.
But was it really needed? Even though he never interacted with other people, he had never wasted his time. Every goal he had laid out in his daily task had never been left undone, in fact, the only downside he experienced was never having the taste of youthfulness and the experience of enjoying life with so called “circle of friends” .
But who cares, people who lived in their own world don’t really have to idly with these things. The only thing they had to do was find something that will replace that empty hole in their heart. They might be enjoying as of now, but in the end, every joy, sadness and anger with every fragments of memory will come to age as their owner does.
In the end, we all had the same fate of dying. And when you die, you will not gain anything from the people that you had spent your memories with.
Well, its something I can’t help. When people do things like this, I just itch to response, even though the words that will leave my mouth is very embarrassing and cringy.
And as an outcome from responding on his itching persona, he forgot to act like how the Yuro from the real world would, especially when his encountering a very unfamiliar event. And when someone forgot the situation they were settled in, and failed to quickly response, they will lose one step ahead and will easily going to get outrun by others.
But even so, on what am I going to lose on this situation.
And before he could open the menu, that he should have done earlier, a series of a loud humming from below resonated above, with the appearance of a golden cube above.
The melody of thousand voices that sounded angelic were uniting as one while they sung a glorifying notes, like some sort of ending coming near within an epic story.
“Wha—“
Yuro muttered as a red warning reddish panel interrupted him from opening the menu.
I can’t believe it, this is bad.
Right, it was certainly bad. Not only he didn’t manage to open his menu, but after his eyes had hit the upper left corner, where his health bar, name and stamina was settling with, he had glimpsed a sense of terror and anxiety.
Shit. 35% HP, and a ten percent stamina. This is the worse.
But no matter how he rack his brain on this matter, it will never change the fact that he was low in Health Points and Stamina. And rather letting himself get swallowed by fear and anxiousness, he had to remain calm and be wary of his surrounding.
Right, in every calamity I had to calm down.
However, before he manage to regain his sense of calmness and serenity, it started.
“Greetings to the one who isn’t born in this world,” A large and deep majestic voice echoed throughout the entire colloseum.
“To the remaining 15 heroes that defeated the forlong enemy of our kingdom, I will let the strongest one, the victor of this battle royale, the greatest treasure of our world.”
And just like that, balls of flames fleeted high above, exploding like fireworks while getting wrapped of thick grey smoke. With that instance, Yuro knew, he is doomed to fail, and that loud explosion is the sign of this grand event’s beginning.
“Give me a hold, this is why I hate experiencing things firsthand.” With the little hp left on his large health bar, and a fainting stamina, he drew his sword knowing his utter defeat on this event.
