                                 HE/HEROINE AND MY VILLAINESS

(THE SUN IS STARTING TO RISE ABOVE EAST)

Lord Marthen finally left his daughter's room and returned to his business and plans, while Madam Rose remained with her daughter, holding her close in her arms.

Hearing the sound of the door closing, Yerre was bothered and curious, so she opened her eyes, blinking three times to clear her vision, and saw the unusual artistic design of the ceiling.

"W, where am I?" Yerre asks, her voice hoarse.

"Vendia? Vendia! Oh, my child, thank God," Madam Rose exclaimed, wrapping her arms around her child in joy and relief.

"Who are you?" Yerre inquired, perplexed. She sat up on the bed and shifted her weight away from Madam Rose, causing a tingling pain sensation in her head and making her body feel exhausted once more.

She clenched her teeth, hissing in pain from a headache, and forced herself not to feel exhausted. She was still reeling from Madam Rose's treatment of her earlier, so she tried to make sense of the situation.

Madam Rose attempted to re-approach her with the intention of holding and caressing her daughter's hands again.

"Who are you, and why do you call me Vendia?" she inquires once more. After that, a few seconds. She recalls what happened and looks at her with a puzzled expression.

"I am your mother, and your name is Vendia; you are my precious and only child," Madam Rose said again as she hugged her. Yerre flinched at the unexpected affection, but soon calmed down. Too tired to resist and protest.

'Ah... right... Now I recall. Ekh! My head still hurts,' Yerre groaned in pain. Her gaze is fixed on the door, and the unfamiliarity envelopes her entire body and emotions.

"My name is Vendia," she unintentionally blurted out. Too tired to speak further and ask the woman who embraces her any further questions.

"Yes, you are," Madam Rose replied cheerfully, thinking that her daughter's memory had returned, but this was not the case.

Yerre was uneasy in her current situation. She had no idea how she got here, let alone into Vendia's body. She was also perplexed as to why Vendia's body remained weak and tired.

However, she will go with the flow for the time being and study everything inside this book to ensure that her best friend is also present inside this book, according to her thought solution.

If opportunity presented itself, she would do anything to reunite with and be with her best friend.

'Haah... I've read a lot of manhwa, including ones about transmigration, but I couldn't believe it would come true for me. Worst of all, I'm the antagonist in this story. Haah... my eyes are heavy again,' she reflected.

"I need to sleep," she said, startling Madam Rose. But before Vendia's mother could react, Yerre had already fallen asleep in her arms.

As Yerre fell into unconsciousness, a memory from the time of their death flash back inside.

[Flash Back]

(Under the seawater)

Alda and I hugged each other. She gestured, telling me I should never close my eyes, but I can't take it anymore. I can't breathe anymore.

"I am sorry..."

Those are the last words I said before my last breath took me.

[FLASH BACK END]

'That was the last thing that happened before I got inside this world and into Vendia's body,' she thought as she regained consciousness within her body.

She awoke huffing and puffing, releasing the uncomfortable tension in her body. Yerre felt heavy all over her body, as if a four-headed bear were clinging to each of her arms and feet.

It made her feel uneasy and as if she lacked the strength to move around in bed any further.

Madam Rose, who was reading a book next to her daughter's bed, noticed her movement in the bed.

"Vendia? Are you awake?" Madam Rose inquired, concerned as she noticed her daughter trembling.

Yerre did not respond because she did not want to add to the stress of the situation. She is unable to deal with her situation because she is ill.

She was still uneasy alongside Madam Rose, so she immediately devised an excuse to force her to leave the room and stay away from her for the duration. As she tries to make sense of everything that has happened to her.

'How does Vendia refer to her parents?' She wonders, using caution in her words to Vendia's mother. As she considers how to address Madam Rose.

"Ahh... yes, I now know. Vendia calls her mother," she mumbles in hushed tones. Already figured out how to address Madam Rose.

"I uh... I'm hungry. Can I get something to eat, uh mo-mother?" I asked as our gazes locked. She gives me a friendly smile.

"Of course," she said, setting the book she was reading on the table beside my bed, and she sighed in relief.

'Oh, good, she buys my excuse,' Yerre thought, relieved.

"Mary, hurry, prepare food for your young miss to eat," she orders the maid standing in front of the door, which takes me by surprise.

'Where did she come from? Why didn't I sense her presence in the room?' 'Yerre thought, creeped out and was surprised by the maid who was now standing beside her bed, smiling down at her.

She fixed her gaze on her, scanning her from head to toe, feeling a sense of familiarity and relief.

"Your..." she exclaimed, staring at Mary in disbelief.

*Gasp*

She... She's Mary! THE RIGHT HAND OF VENDIA! The villain's faithful dog!

*BARK!*

I've finally figured out who you are...

"Impossible..." Yerre couldn't believe it; she'd only seen her in the book being drawn flawlessly, and now she's standing in front of her, breathing and smiling.

It's no surprise I didn't notice her presence in the room earlier. For God's sake, she's a well-trained, fearless, strong, and expert assassin servant in the Marquis!

'Mary, my second favorite character and the only pity character in the book,' she thought, happy tears welling up inside her.

"I'm glad you're back, Miss," she said, making Yerre return her smile, washing away all her fear inside this world.

"Thank you, Mary," she replied with a happy and relieved expression on her face.

'This is good, this is good. At the very least, I have Mary by my side. I had almost forgotten about her. I'm so glad she came. I now have someone who can protect me while I search for Alda inside this world,' she thought, relieved.

She is Vendia's dependable maid. From what I recall, Vendia is a villain in the book, but she never harms her servants. She bosses them around without their permission.

But she wasn't out to hurt any of them. Vendia keeps Mary on her side since she is ten years old, and she uses her to entice the prince to her.

*Knock*

The knock on the door breaks the silence in the room and interrupts Yerre's thoughts.

"Madam, I brought the Miss foods," Mary said as she stood outside the room, holding Yerre food in her free hand.

Madam Rose rose from her bed and strode over to the door, which she opened for Mary, allowing her to enter the room and serve the food to her daughter.

Yerre attempted to sit up in her bed, but it was difficult because her body's strength had not fully recovered.

When Mary noticed this, she immediately placed the food on the bed tray, set it aside for a while, and assisted Yerre in sitting up, making her lean her back against the soft headboard.

"Vendia, I'm going back to my office to do some work for a while; make sure you eat well and drink your medicine, okay?" Madame Rose said Yerre looked at her and tried to smile, indicating that she understood what she meant, but her smile was weak and only made Madam Rose worried.

But Madam Rose restrains herself from becoming overly concerned and simply smiles back at her child.

"Mary, take care of everything," she said, her face stiff and solemn.

"Yes, Madam," Mary replied, bowing respectfully. Madam Rose then exited her daughter's room.

Mary went to open the thick, long, and heavy curtains after Madam Rose left Vendia chamber, and the room fell silent once more.

The glass door was opened, revealing a lovely view of the day as a warm and refreshing breeze entered the room, providing a soothing sensation to the sick person in the bed.

After opening the curtain and allowing light into the room, Mary returned to her Miss side and noticed she was having difficulty holding the spoon for a long period of time.

Mary sat down beside Yerre and took the spoon that was already holding a soup.

"I'll take the lead, Miss," she said, her face concerned. Yerre was taken aback by her actions, but she was overjoyed on the inside.

'She is such a caring person,' she thought, nodding to Mary's words.

"Thank you," she said, thanking Mary for assisting her in eating, but Mary's reaction to her words concerned and shocked her.

"What is it?" she inquires, thinking she must have said something strange or incorrectly.

'Did I say something incorrectly?’ Yerre thought, panicking inside.

"I'm sorry; I was surprised because it's the first time I've heard you say thank you," Mary replied.

"Ah? " Yerre was taken aback by her response.

'Oh, yeah, I forgot about it; Vendia never once said thank you or apologized to her servants. Instead she always walks away with no words after her encounter with the servant’s.' Yerre sighs in relief upon knowing she didn’t say something wrong and smiles.
