Grimoire 6: Flashback To School House Rock
Cover image of Narayana playing a guitar plugged into a human skull in the classroom on the sensei’s desk.
Caption: My name, is Narayana. My Caste Name is Silver Web. My caste name sign, that represents my father and those he sires, is a silver spider web.
Flashback Panels: Narayana's true form, naked, no genitals, four arms with four spider legs coming from his back, a spiral black tattoo marking from his eyes that wraps around his back, arms and legs. Long red hair that spills out onto the ground, eight glowing eyes, his true form floats behind him in his thoughts as he walks.
Cinematic wide shot takes up two whole pages: the spires of Grimdark pan down half the school is a more modern mansion like building, the other half is an old castle. Zoom into a hallway, Narayana is walking with Ruriko.
Caption: They say that you have to love yourself...
Caption: In order to be loved by someone else...
Caption: But I don't believe that.
Flashback Panels: Narayana is walking in silence, ignoring everyone around him in the courtyard as Ruriko chats at his uncaring ear.
Caption: I don't believe that at all.
Caption: They say a lot of things, but does what they say even mean anything?
Flashback Panel: Narayana walking into the school, Ruriko right beside him.
Caption: It doesn't mean anything.
Flashback Panel: Narayana watches Ruriko put her shoes in her shoe locker.
smaller FB panel on the above FB panel: Narayana does the same, (the sound of effect of taking something off follows)
Flashback Panel: He puts his shoes in his shoe locker, putting on the mandatory school slippers.
Caption: Words are meaningless lies spewed out by people who want something to believe in.
Flashback Panel: Narayana looks miserable as he stares at his small shoe locker, among the other shoe lockers of the other students on the wall. His eyes are dead, vacant, broken.
Caption: That's why I hate words, even if they having meaning for some people, they mean nothing to me,
Ruriko: Na'joo-kun, are you ok? You seem zoned out…
smaller FB panel in the below FB panel: she waves a hand in front of his face, smiling.
Flashback Panel: He offers Ruriko a fake smile, turning to face her. He thinks about being in an alley, sacrificing something in a small bundle, a human baby, stabbing it through the heart, this is imposed behind him. Next to it in another side panel he thinks about being touched by an old shriveled hand, a broken ram horn over a torn spider web burned slightly bleeding, into his forehead. The mark of sacrifice.
Narayana: No, I'm fine, I'm just fine, now what did you want to do after school?
Flashback Panels: Her smiling mask of a face is firmly in place, Narayana doesn't see anything wrong with her at all. She puts her hands behind her back and gives a wide grin, eyes closed.
Ruriko: I thiiink... we should go to the Poodle Skirt Cafe! They have this new drink and really cute cake called the Elegant Poodle and Fancy Pillow! But not after school!
Narayana: That...sounds like heart disease waiting to happen. Wait, not after-?
Ruriko: Nope! We skip next class!
Flashback panel: He forces a smile and rolls his eyes as she hugs his arm.
Captions: Humans, and Myr sometimes too, are such simple minded creatures, thinking actions speak louder than words, they're lying to themselves everyday, I have grown up around humans though, my whole life...
Flashback Panel: She drags him to their next class, the sign near the door says, Moon-sensei, Nautical Magic Class.
Caption: But I still don't understand why they think words are so...important.
Flashback Panel: Ruriko leaned into him as they walked into the class.
Ruriko: You haaave to promise me, k!?
Narayana: Promise? Promise you what exactly? (Disgruntled expression)
Ruriko: Promise me you'll come with me to the poodle skirt cafe! duh! You need to learn more about Tokyo Noir! (Overly wide grin as she speaks)
Caption: Oh yea...
Flashback of Flashback Panels: Behind Narayana his grandfather is pointing to a chart that has chibi heads of himself, Narayana and his brothers on it with the words *We are from Paranoia Korea* scribbled next to them in a demonic text (wing it) with the words in japanese outside the panel pointing at the chart with a smaller english translation in () under it). Narayana, Visnu, Spadia, Bhagavan and Lilivum are all ignoring him while playing cards with their devimonitors, each of them had a small green haired blue eyed chibi with ram horns and cat tails dressed in trench coats. They were all chewing old gum and sitting on an old beaten up couch.
Caption: Every demon is assigned what is called a Devimonitor.
Flashback Panel: As he sits down with Ruriko, he thinks about the Devimotior chibis super imposed behind himself, looking happy as they float.
Caption: My brothers and mine all look the same because we are identical, but each has its own personality. Like us.
Flashback Panel: His Devimotior chibi grins then points at itself as an arrow points to it turning into a bracelet form, like a ring of matrix style code now behind him as he passes a pencil to Ruriko and class starts.
Caption: They help us keep track of things, like rituals and other things. They don't need useless words to function. I ended up leaving mine in my regular locker.
Flashback Panel: Narayana watches as the sensei, Dagiel in his human form, fake black roots in his sea foam green hair, smaller pointed wizard ears, walks in, dressed in the black and purple professor's robes.
Caption: Devimonitors have a covert form that the numerical bracelets can turn into. This can be customized into any kind of jewelry.
Flashback Panel: Narayana's Devimonitor turns into a pair of black rings laying in his locker.
Flashback Panel: Dagiel smiles as he waves his wand in front of himself, several star fish popping up across his desk.
Dagiel: I am Moon Dak-Ho. to you, Moon-sensei, your professor of Nautical Magic, and welcome to your first year of my class.
Flashback Panels, two page spread: Dagiel smiles at the students. The class is filled with ocean themed scrolls on bookshelves, a large map of the layers of the ocean, a portrait of a pink haired merman, Salsa, hung over the blackboard. There were shelves with dive equipment on them and every window was a black porthole. There was a port hole in the middle of the shogi door as well, with netting hanging from it. The walls were painted to look like ocean waves, sea otters floating in them.
long thin flashback panel inside the above flashback panel: He and Narayana lock eyes. Dagiel's eyes widening at the mark of sacrifice on Narayana's forehead.
Caption: I don't know why humans, myr as well, hold such value in words, or even actions, because …
Flashback Panel: Dagiel looks away quickly, a haunted expression on his beautiful face.
FB Panel on this FB panel: He adjusts the star fish clip in his hair and hurries back behind his desk.
Flashback Panel: Narayana's gaze is blank, lifeless, as Ruriko chatters in his ear about nothing.
Caption: I don't need words or actions, or any form of human or myr motivations or confirmations to define my life.
Flashback panels: Focus in on Narayana's blank stare in a mirror and the slightly bloody mark of sacrifice on his forehead
Caption: My fate is already sealed.
