"Good to be careful anyways, the police station's just around the corner. After a sudden increase in crimes here, we've made it a requirement for all stores and public places to be filled with security cameras" he eyed her with caution.
The girl was stuck on what to respond.
"You free today?" Emily strongly doubted it though, knowing that the undercover police was still high on alert.
"Yup."
She heard her stomach rumbling as she frantically ran to the counter to pay for the egg and lettuce sandwich that the man had offered her.
More specifically, tried to.
Both the tall figure behind her and the cashier of the convenience store were staring at her in confusion as the girl seemed to have forgotten how to walk.
Instead, Emily resorted to crawling towards the bench, her hand shaking as she reached over to hand the item to the seller.
"seven dollars" The man behind the counter said.
"You mean seven-fifty"
"You mean seven-" Emily responded, confusion evident in her voice.
"With a fifty cents tip." He finished.
The cashier glanced back and forth at both Emily and the man before siding with the latter.
"I would like a fifty cents tip thank you very much" He held his hand out expectedly.
The girl sighed before handing over eight of her hard earned coins to the man.
Emily walked out, with him tailing her.
She didn't notice him though, as she crouched over to her bag and grabbed her almost empty bottle of water and chugged the liquid down her throat.
"Oh so you're a homeless girl that smokes. That's fine, losers are my kind of style anyways"
The girl turned around to find the same annoying guy towering over her, his arms crossed in disapproval.
that's what she thought it was.. At least.
She rolled her eyes before replying, "leave me be, posh boy" Emily turned away from him and began to drag her bag along with her.
"Alright, fine i'll be straightforward- I know you don't live here. Haven't seen you once around the city. Plus, you seem to have no idea where you're going, since you're heading to an alley" He chuckled, "Just wanna show you around you know?"
"No I don't know." She resumed her pace.
The girl decided to open up her sandwich she had just bought, wasting no time as she instantly bit into the soft white bread and the two layers of filling. Egg drenched in mayonnaise and the crunchy lettuce underneath.
