"Why would you do that Kagami?" "Stop, Kagami!" "No!" The voices echoed around the young boy's head, the pressure and anxiety pounding at his head. He remembered the cold stare his mother had given afterward. His own actions had resulted in his own despair...
Kagami Yasuhara is a good kid, with good intellect, quick thinking, and wits. Everything about him was pretty normal, except for one thing. One day while sleeping, Kagami woke up to flames. Not on the house though, on his hands. The fires must have been burning for about 10 minutes, but the only thing he felt was a slight breeze on his hand. His parents rushed over to him in terror. They stood in the doorway carefully observing. Kagami doesn't remember much about this day, only the feel of the flames. The only thing he remembers was a particular figure. A tall man had walked into the room, wearing all sorts of accessories. Knotted cloth bracelets and belts wrapping around his torso and other limbs. He had something strapped to his main belt on his hip, he couldn't tell what though. But before he could look anymore, he felt a draft of wind go over him, as the flames went out.
A few days afterward Kagami had gotten used to this new-found ability. He wielded it like a torch on his hand, showing it off t others. No one had ever seen anything like this in the village. It was like a miracle. Kagami felt like a hero as he walked around, lighting up lanterns and heating up food. People had soon to forget how odd this was, accepting it into their life. All but two people. Kagami's parents. The two had been worried about him ever since he first showed that he had this ability. Worried what he might do to something... Or someone. They could never expect what he would ever do with this.

Iwata Yasuhara sat down with everyone in the central part of the village. People were cheering, children were laughing, and spirits were drunk. All the adults sat at a large table together and we're talking with each other,
"No, but get this! When I walked out into the field he was just laying there! He looked like a little calf, it was hilarious!" They all erupted into laughter as the adult told his story. "Anyway, how's Kagami been, Iwata? I haven't seen him around recently."
Iwata scratched his cheek and let out a sigh. "I uhhhh..." He paused. "I asked him to stay out in the field and keep watch." Everyone at the table stopped for a moment.
"Excuse me?" One of them spoke out.
"You told your son to go out and stay in the field? On a festival?" Iwata drooped his head down onto his palm. "Iwata, you know you can't do this to him. You're the only father figure he has. Hell, the only parent he has." Iwata sat back in his chair with a gloomy face. He looked up and saw everyone giving him a face of disappointment.
"I'm going to go get some more food..." Iwata stood up with a plate and walked over to a table with cooked food all over. He stood there, not thinking about the food and more of the decisions he's made.
"Hey, Iwata?" A voice said from behind him. He turned around and faced a woman who stood there. "Asakui wants to talk with you." Iwata looked towards a table with one person sitting at it. He knew exactly who it was. A man sat there, his wrist covered with bracelets made with cloths knotted together. He wore a dark cloak and had black hair with brown streaks running through it. He looked towards Iwata with his grey eyes and gestured for him to come to sit with him. Iwata put his plate down on the table and walked over.
"So, I'm guessing you're probably wondering where Kagami is," Iwata said defeatedly while taking a seat. "And to be blunt, I-"
"I know where he is," Asakui said quickly, cutting Iwata off. "I want to know why you did it." Iwata felt his heart sink at that moment, as he looked back up at the mysterious man.
"I um, I told him to go keep watch over the sheep at the field tonight."
"Why."
"Well, there's been a lot of the sheep going missing over and we're suspecting that it was from an animal of some sort."
"I haven't heard of such rumors." Asakui rubbed his chin with his index and thumb, "In fact, there hasn't been any sheep missing recently from what I know." Iwata looked away nervously, "There is nothing killing the sheep is there?" Asakui looked at him with a relaxed face.
"N-no... there isn't." Iwata said.
"Well then why did you do it?" Asakui said while turning his head to the side.
"I'm not sure. People always think I'm mad at him, but really I'm scared."
"You're scared of him?"
Iwata shook his head, "No. I'm scared for him."
"How so?" Asakui asked, even more, curious now.
"Well ever since that day, I've been afraid that Kagami might hurt someone, or hurt himself. I've never seen anything like it, and I feel you've been doing everything. I've just been a bad dad I guess." The two shared a moment of silence before continuing. "I just wouldn't know what to do if I saw his face here."
Asakui took a deep inhale and exhale, "You can talk about it you know."
Iwata looked up at him confusedly, "Talk about what?"
"About what he did..."
"And how he burnt the poor kid's face off."
Iwata froze in shock about what Asakui just said, he began to speak but was cut off, "I mean the kid's still alive, hopefully. I mean his family just left and his whole face is scarred, not to mention that-"
"STOP!" Iwata stood up with a horrified look on his face. Asakui gave a soft smile,
"So you are worried, huh." Asakui stood up as well. When he stood up, Iwata could see that attached to his best was some sort of handle, though he was unsure what it was. "Don't worry, I'll be sure to take care of him from now on, and starting tomorrow I-" Asakui was cut off by the noise of running and panting. He looked toward the gate to see none other than Kagami.
"EVERYONE RUN!!" Kagami yelled as he ran. Everyone looked toward to see him. And right behind him, they saw the most devilish creature they had ever seen. Asakui gripped the handle on his hip, getting the attention of Iwata.
It then clicked in his brain what it was attached to Asukai. It was a Katana.
