"Arthur!" Bellowed Merlin in a voice as powerful as thunder. Wesley could have sworn her voice echoed through the entire castle, amplified by a magical spell. Her face was angrier than either of them had ever seen. "Who is that girl?" Merlin had only caught a brief glimpse of what was happening on Arthur's silk sheets and thought that it was a girl Arthur was banging. Wesley almost sighed with relief, but held it in due to the intensity of the situation. Taking advantage of Merlin's misinformation, he quickly cast a spell and transformed his already long hair into even longer, blond hair. He touched his chest and small breasts sprouted from his bony chest. The only thing he didn't change were his green eyes. Poor Arthur was too scared of Merlin to notice that Wesley had just transformed into a topless girl in front of him.
"I'm Wendy." Lied Wesley as he stood up from behind the bed to address Merlin. "King Arthur and I were-"
Just then, Merlin noticed the Court-Mage robes lying on Arthur's bed. "You think you can lie to me?" Merlin questioned. Her yellow eyes pierced Wesley's very soul. "Wesley's clothes are on the bed-" Merlin paused. All of a sudden, her own words just dawned on her.
"Wesley's clothes are on the bed!?" She repeated in a stunned voice. "Arthur... Wesley... You two are- gay?"
Wesley snapped his fingers and turned back into his original form and Arthur crawled up from behind the bed, blushing and not making eye contact with Merlin.
"Yes, we are." Wesley admitted.
"Well, I'm very happy you two are in a relationship with each other. And I support it." Merlin began. "But I'm outraged that you were having sex when you are only 15 and 16 years of age!"
She wasn't making eye contact anymore and Wesley knew that she was a bit uncomfortable with something about it. It could have been the way she had found out. Or maybe it was because she wasn't used to these types of relationships. But still, Wesley knew that she wanted to (or even was) fully supportive.
"I'm glad you approve." Arthur's voice quaked. He was obviously and understandable shaken up by the whole ordeal.
"But I mean, Arthur is the king so in a way he's allowed to ha-" Wesley started but was immediately cut off by Merlin, who didn't appear to have even heard Wesley; or simply chose to ignore him.
"We will discuss this another time. But I do need to borrow Wesley. I've discovered something terrible about the azeels."
"Of course." Arthur nodded, he was starting to get a bit less uncomfortable. "He'll be right out!"
"Good." Said Merlin. "Meet me at the infirmary." She closed the door behind her. Not a second had passed before she opened it again and peeped her head in. "I put an anti-magic barrier on the infirmary. So you won't be able to teleport there. I'll explain why later." Then (for good this time), she closed the door and left the two in the room. Wesley's heartbeat was increasing. He was worried Merlin didn't just want to talk to him. He thought she might want to interrogate him. 'Does she suspect that I am responsible for the azeels?' Wesley wondered. If Merlin had suspected him it would only be a matter of time before she found evidence linking him to the crimes. And if that happened, he would be executed for conspiring against the kingdom.
"Can I come with you to the infirmary?" Arthur asked out of the blue.
"Sure, it can't hurt." Wesley smiled. The last hour he'd spent with the king was one of the best hours of his entire life and he was happy he could spend more time with him.
"Yay!" Cheered Arthur, jumping with excitement. There was no doubt in Wesley's mind that Arthur felt the same way.
Arthur and Wesley walked through the cold snow. The streets were crowded with people; children played in the snow and adults sat on porches and patios of restaurants. The air was peaceful and the snowflakes fell gently. Both of them were wearing their Royal Royal, which was not as common a sight as one would expect. Royal Robes are a sign of formality, this meant that each person who saw the two knew they were on official business. But they were distracted by the terribly, unprofessional manner in which the king and the Court-Mage were handling each other. They were holding hands as they walked, and every now and then they would kiss each other. They took their time walking to the infirmary; in between the hand-holding and kissing, they would playfully chuck snow at each other and giggle as they made jokes. Some people were shocked that their king was gay, while others were disappointed at the disrespect they were showing towards the traditional Royal Robes. But most were happy that their king had found someone to be with. For Arthur was a lovely, kind young man who always had time to help the citizens. He was far too loved to have his image diminished by homophobia. In short, there were very few people who didn't approve of the relationship- if anything they were simply annoyed by how informal the king was acting. But no one cared enough to be bothered. A few people walked up to them and congratulated them. Some people would even point Arthur to local jewelry stores that sold engagement rings, these people obviously relished the though of having two kings. To this, Arthur would simply laugh respond "Not quite yet." Wesley blushed as he wondered when 'yet' would be, if at all it would be. During this walk, Wesley had almost forgotten about all the trouble he was causing these people. But when he remembered, he silently vowed to protect them from the threat he created. Even if it cost him his own life.
