Oni: a kind of yōkai or demon in Japanese folklore. They are typically portrayed as hulking figures with one or more horns growing out of their heads.
Kagami remembers hearing stories of Oni from when he was younger. A group of demons that came from hell to Japan with the intent of killing all humans. They had ruled Japan for years, hunting down any human they would find and kill them.
Until one day, in a human form Xoreus, the god of all humans descended from the heavens. Xoreus touched a human, giving him a droplet of power. That human was gifted the power to wield every element in the world. Fire, Water, Wind, Electricity, Earth, and even the light and dark of the two respective realms, Heaven and Hell. Xoreus returned back to the heavens but left the human with a goal. "Banish the oni far away." The human confronted the oni. The onis faced the human as the abilities of the heavens were unleashed upon them. As they ran away, they were tricked into a cave inside of a mountain. The entrance was sealed with all the elements combined, creating a barrier that could only be broken by time.
The human looked up in the sky, a ripple went throughout the sky all across the land. From then on, Japan became something unworldly. Japan was blessed with wielding the elements of the world. Any baby born into Japan would have a chance to be born with a Moxi. A Moxi is the wielding of one of the elements of the world. And from that moment to the present, people have been using these elements for work, jobs, but most commonly... Battle.

Asukai caught the onis coin as it flipped over to him, taking a moment to inspect it. The oni pulled a type of pipe or instrument out and blew into it. A low noise coming from it. All the oni on the roofs all together turning their heads and making their way over to the greater oni, presumably it being the leader.
It communicated with the other onis through a series of growls, roars, and other indescribable noises. It turned back towards Asukai, "What is your name, human."
Asukai looked at the oni, a sense of hate in his eyes. "Moronaga. And judging by this token, I take it you're Fujin." The onis smiled as his fangs reached over his lips.
"Correct." Fujin put the mace onto his back as he began to walk out of the village. "And Moronaga, if I see you again, I won't let you go too easily." Asukai laughed to himself,
"You really sure you should be the one saying that?" Fujin turned his head and laughed.
"You're funny... I like that about you." Asukai watched as Fujin disappeared into the darkness, followed by a loud crashing noise. Asukai looked out into the field, the sheep pen being destroyed and tens of hundreds of oni stealing the sheep.
Asukai took one more look at the coin in his hand. He rubbed his finger over the engraving on it, looking out into the distance. "Guess it's finally time, huh."

"Everyone calm down!" Asukai called out to the village to try and get their attention. "They're gone, we don't need to worry anymore!" Everyone turned towards him with scared eyes.
"How do you know they won't be back?" Someone called from the crowd. Asukai winced,
"I... I don't know. But right now we need to focus on cleaning up. If any other of these creatures show up, I'll protect you all." Still scared, the villagers began to move throughout the village and clean up the mess. Kagami peeked his head out of the house, seeing Asukai looming over the corpse of the lesser oni. Kagami walked out of the house and towards Asukai.
"Hey Asukai, What these creatures? are they really o-" Kagami was cut off by Asukai putting his hand over his mouth, shushing him.
"Heyyyy Kagami! I've been meaning to talk with you, come with me." Asukai quickly walked Kagami through the arch entrance and moved him to the outside of the wall. "Okay listen to me Kagami, You can't say that these are oni, everyone's already panicking right now and if they learned what they really are stuff would get out of hand."
"Wait what?" Kagami asked confusedly,
"Do you remember the story of Xoreus and the human?" Kagami nodded frantically in response, "In the story, the oni were sealed away, those things ruled the world and if people knew that they were back there would be chaos."
"Wait, so those oni from the story are really real?" Kagami's face turned pale upon realization,
"Yes Kagami, and it's up to me and you to stop them all." Asukai looked Kagami into the eyes, seeming to stare into his soul.
"Wha- you need my help? What the hell am I supposed to do?!" Kagami stumbled back against the wall in anxiety. All this information was like being hit in the head with a bat, his head was spinning around his .
Asukai took a breath and stood back. He held out his hand, a small gust of wind coming from his palm.
"You have a moxi Kagami, and you've kept it hidden for so long. But we need to bring those flames back." Kagami took in all he was told until it clicked in his brain what it was he was being asked.
Kagami's voice trembled as he asked, "You want me to use my flames again?" Asukai looked him in the eyes, nodding.
"Yes, we won't be overpowered by these oni. And we need to get as many people as we can to join us."
Kagami took a deep breath and moved back. He looked at Asukai with a blank face.
"Hell no."
