January 28th.
P O V - Avery
It's getting closer to the day where they're going to turn me into an emotionless machine.
I don't get much feedback over the earpiece, but when I do, it's short information, or Pip comes on to say hi. I have to be a little quiet when speaking back, I don't want anyone thinking I'm crazy, or somehow communicating to the outside world.
That would probably force me to go into this new training earlier. So, I was careful. Dr. Jodey still came in for daily checks and chit chats, but his happy attitude seemed to be faltering a bit.
He kind of sounded sad, he seemed a little obsessed as well. Over the past few weeks, I noticed small things he did while interacting with me.
When I ask him a question, he always seems off guard and almost always starts the sentence off with "oh!"
Other times, he's speaking quickly or staring out the window while we talk about subjects that were off-topic from my situation. Small talk. I'm gonna miss this dude. Hopefully, he stays out of my way...

Later that night, I heard a small crackle from the earpiece. I heard the voice of the Boss faintly. I didn't know what to call him, so I asked Pip and that was all I got...
'You want to explain it then? ....Alright Boss, she's all yours...'
I heard a squeak of a chair and clicks of shuffling before hearing-
'Avery dear~'
Ah, good thing I'm alone right now.
"Erm, yes? I'm here."
'It's about time you've come out of there. Look outside your window darling.'
I did what I was told and looked out. There's a van with some type of skull on it further away. Closer to the building, I can see a few people hiding, they were moving quickly and I assume they were getting into their positions or distracting the facility guards.
"Holy crap, you're getting me out right now?"
'That's correct Avie'
"Don't say that."
'Why not? Only your boyfriend can?'
"I don't like him using it either, and you don't get to as well."
'Oh? Guess we'll just won't break you out.'
"I won't make that high tech boss chair you wanted."
'....I do need a new chair.'
Score! I win, but what do I do? Do I just wait to be saved? I'm sure I have to do someth-
'Oh yeah, don't forget to press the emergency button and run to the 2nd floor alright?'
"What!? Excuse you, I wasn't informed of this earlier!"
'Didn't want you accidentally blurting it out. Don't fret, Pippy here well tell you where to go, isn't that right?'
'SHUT UP!'
'That's a good Pippy.'
"Alright fine, just- put him on, he's more reassuring and trustworthy than you right now."
'Hmph'
...
More shuffling. Oh, that's Pip's voice.
"Hello Pip!"
'Uhm- hi- so when I give the signal, that's when you book it, alright? The emergency button is at the end of the hall. Luckily, you're extremely close to it. After pressing it, don't hesitate to start running down the stairs. If you can, slide down the railing if you can, it preserves your energy. Try not to get caught by any one of the guards, there shouldn't be many anyway, our boys will take care of it'
"Got it. Signal, button, run an' slide. Wait, what do I do when I get to the second floor?"
"Oh, you just have to- oh- sorry, I'll tell you when you get there, go, NOW!"
And that's when I booked it. I scrambled from the window from where I stood and swung open the door to my room. I looked to the left, hallway... to the right, the stairs!
Some of the scientists and nurses there saw me and they started yelling. Before running down the stairs, I pulled on the emergency switch. I guess it wasn't a button.
"Pip, I got the switch!"
'Yeah, I can hear it.'
Alarms started to blare out. The rise and fall of the wailing was intimidating me, I nearly froze up. I opened the doors that led to the stairs and jumped onto the railing... oh god, it's kind of high... I'm on the 6th floor. I just have to slide down 4 cases.... fun.
I started sliding down quickly, I had to pay attention to the numbers that appeared near the doors leading to other floors.
I was starting to hear footsteps climb up the stairs. I was currently on the 4th floor now, soon 3rd. The scientist who was rushing up looked at me and sped up the stairs, they were about to grab me, but 1, I'm sliding very fast, 2, legs first. Guess I'll kick 'em-
They toppled over each other, and- are they holding needles? Ooh, they were gonna sedate me with them, ouch, they must have poked each other. Good luck Doctors.
I continued to slide down, I'm finally on the 2nd flo- oh no.

P O V - Dr. Shaun Jodey
"A-Avie? What are you doing out here? Go back to your room, we're being attacked!"
"I know Jodey."
What does she mean she knows? I-is she the one escaping? That can't be, right? It's not true! Wait- that explains what I have been hearing- all the talking in her room. That was all true? All the 'Okay Boss's and 'Will do's? I thought she might have just been going crazy in there.
I gripped the needle in my hand tighter. I have to do this- she can't go out! She has to go to the new training, then she'll be mine! She'll be with me and we can live together!
"Avi-"
"DON'T CALL ME THAT!"
"But-"
She's starting to run past me- before she ran off- I grabbed her hand and forced her into my chest.
She pushed me away- I raised up the needle that was in my right hand- just quickly and carefully- this won't hurt her too badly- this is for her own-

Avery used her robotic arm to push Jodey on to the ground. Jodey was still trying to pierce her skin with the needle. It was close to her abdomen. Quickly, she retracted her robotic arm, using its power advantage to rip the needle out of Jodey's hands.
He was squirming around now and he was flailing about. He was screaming words of the lines of "I love you" and threw in whatever he had planned in the future. His innermost feelings.
Though Avery was touched, the further into details Jodey went, she felt more and more disgusted. He even mentioned the plans for her. He even shouted something about watching her and hearing her talk to someone.
He reached for the needle in Avery's hand again, but Avery jerked it away, not paying attention to where she was moving the arm.
Avery froze up and looked down. Jodey froze up as well.
The needle stuck out of his ribs at an odd angle. The force from Avery's arm was strong enough to bend the needle's tip within Jodey's body. It wasn't visible to either of them, well Jodey could feel it, and you know because I'm telling you. Be quiet.
Avery started panicking and she removed the needle quickly, not realizing that the needle had bent.
Not only did Jodey pass out, but he was losing blood as well. She didn't know what to do now.
Pip saw this through the cameras and saw Avery tearing up and halting her movements.
'Avery! Get up! Some members are coming your way, they'll guide you to the van!'
She slowly stood up and she was taken by the arms gently by two members of the gang Pip was in.
They quickly led her to a window and helped her jump down. They didn't have to do too much though since she already had some training with her arm and body, but she still needed a bit of help.
She saw the bodies of scientists and guards through the windows of the first floor when she was outside. Guards were lying dead by the entrance as well.
They all cut through the forest and Pip had remained quiet. He all saw what happened anyway and didn't need to give any input. The Boss however took the mic from him and whispered into it.
'Well done~'
