"So....You used the Orc Boss' corpse to hide ?"
Of course they were going to interrogate him. Sen wondered how he could even think they would simply check on him to see if he was wounded or mentally scarred and then let him free. No, they had to interrogate him. Of course he had an alibi, so they couldn't suspect that anything weird happened inside the dungeon. Sen had hid behind the boss' corpse and only left once he got the occasion to do so.
Of course what really helped him was the fact that the dungeon was still open. He didn't know how that was even possible, but it did validate everything he said. Otherwise they would've been really suspiscious. Not only because the secret boss literally losing on a dumb mistake was hard to believe but also because of the rewards. The rewards were supposed to be things that could be...Well...Used.
Being the master of the dungeon wasn't exactly something he could show to these people. If they knew he had completed the dungeon, they would have wanted to know about what kind of rewards he got. He could have lied, but he would have been countered immediately. Simply because he didn't have anything to show. He didn't have anything of value on him and he didn't get stronger after leaving the dungeon.
"Y-Yes..That's what I did." Sen answered.
The two inspectors who had been sent by the Hunter's Guild looked at each other, before they shook their heads.
"Well..I can't blame you. You were a simple porter and you're just an F Rank. You would have just hindered those guys if you had chosen to fight. Still..You got really lucky. And so did those high-ranked hunters." One of them said.
They had already gotten everything they could from him, so they were getting ready to leave, but Sen had a question for them.
"Hmm..What will happen with the dungeon ? I mean I heard what the security guards said earlier, but I am still unsure." Sen asked. What he actually wanted to know was if the dungeon had already been given to a clan. It wouldn't be surprising. Those people had a lot of influence and it wouldn't be hard for them to do such a thing that quickly.
"Well....The dungeon doesn't really seem like it has any problems. Those high ranked hunters just underestimated it and ended up getting whooped by a really strong secret boss. Though from what they said when they got out....That boss should be at least an A+ Rank....I guess the clans will go crazy once we allow hunters back in the dungeon." The second inspector said. Sen furrowed his brows and looked at said inspector.
"What ? None of the clans tried to get already ?"
The two inspectors looked at each others before they chuckled. One of them even put on a little smirk, as if he was proud of something.
"Nope, not at all. That's our boss for ya. Of course, the clans already tried to get the dungeon, but they got shot down. It was hilarious too. Our Boss received calls after calls and just ignored all of the clans' propositions before shooting them down coldly. I tell you, the President of the Hunter's Guild got bigger balls than an elephant !" The first inspector said before getting playfully punched in the stomach by his colleague.
Sen looked at the two goofy inspectors as they left and he sighed in relief.
' Everything went perfectly fine. I should have seen that coming though. The President of the Hunter's Guild is quite the mystery but everyone know just how paranoid he is. He wouldn't let that dungeon go until he inspected every single inches of it. And with it's size, it will take the hunter's guild at least a week to do that. ' He thought.
He was currently sitting in an office at the Hunter Guild's HQ. It gave him an occasion to once again marvel at just how rich the Hunter's Guild was. Even a random office like the one he was currently in, looked immensely pricy. The building itself was enormous, but even just that office was enough to awe Sen. Hell even just the chair he was sitting on looked like it would take him six months of no drinking to be able to afford it.
However he couldn't stay in that office looking around like a dumbass. He had to go home, get a good nap and then come back to the dungeon...Somehow. Now that he thought about it, he didn't really have a way to go back there.
Could it be that he was supposed to wait a week like everyone else ? No...That would be really weird. The voice had spoken like it had expected him to come back the day after. Then again it was a random voice inside a dungeon, maybe it didn't know about the hunter's guild and all of that.
Anyway, it was now time for Sen to leave the Hunter Guild's HQ. Or at least attempt to leave it.
"The hell do you think you're going ?"
He froze after he opened the door and looked up to see Jeol-Jong staring down at him. She was that friend working at the Hunter's Guild who had helped him get the F Rank. She was an impressive woman. Well actually he always considered her insanely tall and muscular, but that was only because he was small and physically weak himself. She was just slightly taller than usual and just ran or did push-ups occasionally. He had seen her train in her office one day, that was the only blackmail material he had on her. The face she was making while doing push-ups was honestly hilarious.
As one could have guessed, those two were really close.
"Well....I'm kinda trying to go home. You know, cuz.....I nearly got killed earlier." Sen said with a deadpan. He saw Jeol glare at him before she grabbed his hand.
"Hey, where are you taking me ?" He asked as she dragged him around the building.
"We're going to take a coffee and then you're going to explain everything to me. You said it yourself, you nearly died today. So you can bet your ass I'm not letting you go until I know the full story and am sure you are alright !" She yelled while he complained and whined like a child. Sen was never the mature one.
And Jeol hadn't been kidding. Sen had only found the comfort of his bed four hours later. Four.Hours !
Truly that Jeol was a blabbermouth, but it was his boredom during his discussion with her that made him realize something. He had a strange symbol on his hand.
Ever since he got out of the dungeon he hadn't even realized that, and fortunately enough it was the same for everyone else. Actually, the symbol was directly on his hand and really easy to see, so Jeol should've been to see it. During the discussion Sen kept putting his hand right in her field of view. But she saw nothing.
He could only wonder why that was, until he tried to take a picture of it and it didn't show on it. The symbol was apparently invisible, but he could still see it. It was a clover.
Just....A clover.
Sen wasn't mad enough to try to find the signification of this symbol based on the little informations he had. He did search it up on internet, but nothing had came up. He did see an old report stating that a hunter had conquered a dungeon and came out with a tatoo on his hand. However it wasn't the same tattoo and the report was from three years after the appearance of dungeons, so it was quite damn old.
Maybe there were other people in his situation and they had the same tattoo as him. They could exist even if he didn't find anything on internet, simply because his own case wasn't on it. He wouldn't tell anyone and if someone was in the same situation, they also wouldn't be talking about it on the internet.
Then again he did have someone he could to about this whole thing...Jeol Jong. But he wouldn't. Not yet.
He had to understand it before actually talking to her about it. He knew exactly how she would react if she was made aware. So he needed to wait. The voice had explanations to do, and if those explanations weren't.....Extreme...He would tell Jeol.
So now he was just laying on his bed, looking at the tattoo on his hand.
But he definitely, he wasn't fated to have a single minute of calmness that day.
" Pretty, ain't it ?" A man's voice said.
"Ah ! Who ?!"
Sen shot up and immediately grabbed his weapon. While he had been in the dungeon, he hadn't used it since he didn't need it, but he actually had a weapon. He had to quit drinking for an entire year to buy it and he was damn proud of it. For some reasons, he was always good at sniffing out good deals and he had found a sweet one a year ago. A high ranked hunter had thrown away one of his old weapon and a blacksmith tried to restore it. The restoration failed and the weapon had went from Rank A to C. However a rank C weapon was a treasure to someone like him.
The only problem was that he didn't know how to handle it, as proven when he suddenly took it and nearly fell forward due to it's weight.
"Seriously ? A goddamn Guandao ?! How the hell did you even.....Nevermind. I won't ask. Now, I won't waste my time on random bullshit. I came here for that explanation I owed you, and then I'll take you to your awesome dungeon ! Well....It's not awesome now...But in the future...Maybe. "
