Arthur gasped at Wesley's remark as he watched the guards carry the unconscious Grandmaster away.
"Hold on," The king quivered. "What do you mean he'll turn into an azeel?" He was fighting back tears, for he could not fathom the idea of Nanashi turning into one of those creatures. Afterall, Nanashi had saved Arthur a few times during the battles against demons.
Wesley pulled Arthur in for a hug. "I'm so sorry Arthur. There's a good chance the blood will turn him into an azeel."
Arthur looked up at him, his violet eyes tearing up. "But there's a chance he won't?" Behind the tears a dash of hope glistened in his eyes.
Wesley simple stood there. Both Merlin and Arthur were looking at him with intense anticipation.
Wesley stood there, deep in thought thinking of an answer that won't worry Arthur or give him too much hope. He would also settle for an excuse to get out of that conversation.
"Well, there's always a chance..." He hesitated. "But I wouldn't get your hopes up."
"Ahhgggggg!" A scream sounded through the infirmary. Nurses scattered and the immoble patients began to scream as well. Arthur and Wesley quickly broke from the hug and looked around. Standing on all fours on one of the beds, was an azeel. It's skin was only semi-burgundy but it's eyes had the rocky texture of a completed azeel. Quickly, the two of them took a battle stance. Arthur drew Excalibur and charged at the azeel.
"I'm sorry!" He cried as he threw his blade at the creature. "I know you didn't choose to be like this."
But Excalibur simply passed through the creature, leaving no markat all.
"What..." Arthur marveled, his voice was a mix of horror and shock. "But Excalibur is the strongest sword in Britannia... How could this be?" The unscathed beast leapt at Arthur, throwing him to the ground and biting at him and scratching him.
"Heh..." Wesley said through a serious and grim chuckle. His eyes looked angry, purposeful and terrifying. "You attacked someone I cared about." Wesley extended his right arm, his hand relaxed and hanging down his wrist. "And that will certainly be your demise." Then, he tensed his hand and shot it up so his palm faced the beast. And just like that, he caused the azeel to go flying, crashing through the tent's wall. Arthur was amazed. Not only at his magical prowess, but at the fact that he broke Merlin's magic-canceling barrier.
"Damn human!" Hissed the beast as it ran towards Wesley. It leapt at the mage, but Wesley simply grabbed it by the neck before it could knock him town.
"You truly are a sick creature." Wesley whispered. With all his being he regretted bringing this thing into the world.
Arthur looked at Wesley. This wasn't the mage he knew, but he liked it. He was proud and amazed at his boyfriends formidability, but also scared by the raging storm he could see beneath his calm eyes.
Wesley, still holding the creature by his neck, pulled him closer to him so their eyes were leveled.
"I feel only pity for you. Not because you will die today and not because you lost your humanity. But because you were stupid enough to attack someone I love." The mage tightened his grip and sent mana rushing into the beasts head. Slowly, the semi-crimson skin turned into a pale grey and began to harden. Before long, the beast was turned to stone. Wesley set down the statue on the ground and placed his foot on it's neck.
"My magical ability, RAW MAGIC, allows me to cast spells without ingredients, incantations or any other requisitions. Anti magic barriers simply cancel out the ability to spark mana. Since sparking mana is a requisition for casting spells, my mana is always sparked- always coursing through my veins. It flows with my very blood, it depletes quickly but it is always there.. Ergo, magic-canceling barriers have no effect on me." He pressed his foot down on the stone neck. It crumbled and fell apart. The bystanders clapped as they watched Wesley slay the beast.
"That was incredible!" Burst Arthur as he ran up and hugged Wesley.
"Thanks." Smiled the mage, the storm in his eyes died down. "But my magic is depleted."
"Well done." Merlin's voice sounded from the tent's entrance, a few knights behind her. "I saw the last part. I never knew you were immune to magic-canceling."
Wesley smiled at her.

"If you're immune to magic-canceling, why did we walk here?" Arthur asked as they walked home.
"Well," Blushed Wesley. "I like spending time with you."
Arthur smiled and reached into his pocket. He began to fidget with the ring that was in it, as he looked lovingly at his boyfriend. He stopped walking, but Wesley didn't notice and kept going. Wesley got a few meters ahead when Arthur spoke.
"Also, why did Excalibur have no effect on the azeel?" He asked.
"No clue. Maybe their immune to holy magic, just as they are to fire."
"Hey, Wesley."
The mage turned around.
"Hm?"
"This is Sacred Treasure Daeron." He told Wesley as he took the ring out of his pocket. It was silver and had a sun carved onto it. It was shiny, despite it being late night by now with no light to reflect off of it. "When it's worn, it takes half the mana the wearer produces and stores it in it's reservoir. The mana can be used for spells by saying 'Sacred Treasure: Release'. I thought it would be perfect for you." The king grinned at Wesley.
"Oh, thank you so much!"
And then, Arthur knelt down on one knee. The bystanders in the streets (who had already heard the quick spreading rumors of the king's relationship with Wesley) gasped. It took Wesley a minute to process what was happening, and then he too, threw his hands to his mouth to hold in a gasp. His eyes began to tear with joy. Arthur was kneeling in front of him, presenting him with a ring!
Arthur blushed. He was nervous and a tiny bit embarrassed of all the people watching.
"Just so you know, you get the ring even if you say no."
