RECAP

And then, Arthur knelt down on one knee. The bystanders in the streets (who had already heard the quick spreading rumours of the king's relationship with Wesley) gasped. It took Wesley a minute to process what was happening, and then, threw his hands to his mouth to hold in a gasp. His eyes began to tear with joy. Arthur was kneeling in front of him, presenting him with a ring!
Arthur blushed. He was nervous and a tiny bit embarrassed of all the people watching.
"Just so you know, you get the ring even if you say no."
"YES!" Wesley blurted. Tears of joy streaming down his face.
Arthur laughed. He was so ecstatic that he couldn't bring himself to express it any other way. Wesley threw himself at Arthur to hug him, forgetting he was still kneeling and the two fell into the snow, giggling at what just happened. Wesley took the ring from Arthur's hand and put it on his finger.
"It's lovely!" He said. The people watching cheered. Merlin was clapping too, although the two fiances didn't even know she was there. The two of them stared into eachothers eyes, both red from the tears of joy they both had shed. And then, then both pulled each other close, their lips connected and their warm embraces seemingly melted the snow. Then Wesley, still kissing Arthur, stretched out his arm and snapped his fingers. Suddenly the two of them were on Arthur's bed. He snapped his fingers again and both of their clothes teleported to the side of the bed...

The two had finished and were now lying in the bed, staring lovingly at one another; their close still laying on the floor of the bedroom.
"Wesley," Arthur whispered.
"Hm?"
"I need to ask you something."
"What is it?" Wesley asked.
"Merlin said something to me the other day. She mentioned that it was odd that as soon as you show up, the azeels appear." He paused. "No matter what your answer is, I will always love you. Did you have something to do with this?"
Wesley's face was calm and composed. But behind his eyes he was panicking. But then he concluded that Arthur never would have asked to marry him if he suspected he had something to do this and hated him for it.
"Yes." These words left Wesley's mouth and took a heavy weight along with them. "I did. And I've regretted it for so long! I've done everything in my power to try and stop it."
Arthur's smile was unwavering even with this news. He put his hand on Wesley's cheek. "I know. People can do truly awful things. But I've seen you put your life in danger to stop what you've created. And don't worry. Your secret's safe with me." The king winked.
Wesley started crying. Not with happiness this time, but out of sorrow.
"Arthur, I don't deserve someone as understanding as you! Do you see all the suffering I've caused? All the lives lost because of me?"
The king wiped Wesley's tears away with his thumb.
"If everyone who changed for the better wasn't allowed a second chance this world would be a horrible place. I am good friends with a lot of people, many have committed a terrible sin. One of them even destroyed a kingdom. Another resurrected the demon race. But they changed! And I love them dearly." Arthur sat up in the bed and struck Wesley in the face.
"Ow! What was that for- oh right. Probably making the evil race of fighters."
Arthur laughed at Wesley's comment.
"A while back, you struck me when I was in self pity. I'll do the same to you!" He paused. "Just one question, though."
"What is it?"
"Why did you do it?" Arthur asked.
"I'd love to tell you it was for a noble reason. But that would be a lie. I simply thought it would be fun. That's why I do everything."

Meanwhile, Merlin sat in her room of the castle, picked up a quill and composed a note:
To who it may concern,
I was inspecting one of the infected soldiers in the dungeons when it broke through the cell's bars and attacked me. I managed to fight it off, but some of it's blood got in my wounds. Arthur, I love you dearly. And Wesley... my stunning apprentice... I forgive you for everything. I know the sins you committed, and I am not in the right position to judge you. It truly is my time to die. I welcome the end, with outstretched arms. Please, do not mourn me. I cheated Death when I resurrected Arthur, and now I will pay for that with my life. But I embrace his cold, refreshing touch with all my aching heart.
