"Why?" I questioned. My Father looked delighted, while the Prince was a stuttering mess.
"W-Well...I was hoping to talk more- a-and-"
"Your grace...you should learn what a joke is" I passed off my glass to Myira, taking the Prince's hand. Of course, the other people stared and gawked at us as we danced, lowly whispering to each other. I don't know how long we danced together, but it had to have been many hours.
"Korah, you surely can dance" Ezrah chuckled as we finally sat down.
"I would say the same for you...if you would have managed to keep up with me" I threw him a complacent glance before sipping the glass of water he'd gotten for the both of us.
"I wish Sir Harrison would have told me of your ego!" He retorted, a small grin tugging at his lips.
"You are an excellent person to have as company Ezrah"
"Aw, how wonderful, Miss Korah thinks of me so spectacularly" He settled his hand to his chest, leaning his head back.
"Oi! Ez you player!" A boy shouts as Ezrah shakes his head
"Armon, this is Korah, Sir Harrison's daughter"
"Oh! Hello Korah, I'm Prince Armon of Kemet" He takes my hand and kisses it, making me jump.
"Korah, are you okay?" Ezrah steps in front of his friend as I pull my hand away. I'm not used to such formalities, or even being around royalty. "It's Kemet courtesy to kiss the hand of a woman when you first meet." Ezrah whispers.
"Ah! I'm sorry. I should have known you weren't...ah...familiar with such courtesies of my country." Armon inclines his head to me.
"My apologies, Prince Armon. I am not familiar with the courtesies of any royalty" Armon's eyes widen as he looks around.
"Her father is Sir Harrison, friend to the crown?" Ezrah says it in such a manner, like Armon should know who my father is already.
"Oh! Sir Harrison who personally drove the food to Nuba when they had a drought? Sir Harrison is so selfless! He left his family behind for months to help thousands! Your his daughter! What is it-"
"Armon enough. I'm sure Korah doesn't want to spend her night talking of her father with you." Armon bows his head in apologizes.
"Oi Armon! Why'd you go on without me, leaving me to deal with the guards? You know Nuba isn't- well, Ezrah, finally chose a wife huh?" Another tall fellow joins. They all look to be at least 2 or 3 years older than I am, I can only guess Ezrah's age. The Pharo's age isn't permitted to be known by the public. Such a dull rule that I thought Pharo Marison had changed previously.
"Why do you assume such? This is Lady Korah, friend to the crown, officer to the Royal Court" The male bows, along with Armon.
"Please, do not bow to me!" They look at me strangely, is this unusual for members of the Court?
"Well, Lady Korah, I am Prince Kenneth of Nuba, 24 years" He starts to bow again but remembers my request.
"Oh! I am 23 years. How dull of me" Armon laughs.
"Ahem, Korah, these are my friends. They're kind of odd-"
"Oi!" Kenneth and Armon yell as Ezrah laughs.
