The battle royale ended. And the winnder was nonetheless Rei, the trumpcard of the strongest guild, Sacred Banner of Kings, and the wielder of the legendary sword Ezkariant.
"Hey? Did you know? AS's final event just ended last week."
"Yeah! That's lit. But really, I lost a lot. I mean everyone sure had put their bets on Yuro."
"Yeah, me too. Neve rthough he wouldn't win that event. Guess he really was just a scoundrel who poach items and steal monster drops from player."
"Right. He must be a trash in real life too. Like that glummy guy over there."
"Oy stop it. Are you heartless, that guy just got kicked out fromt his home three weeks ago."
"Eh? I don't believe. That must be a lie."
The chatter on the side corner felt like murmurs, but for Yushiro who was sitting on the back row, near the entrance door, clearly heard every words they were spouting.
In fact, the guy who got kicked from his home, was nonetheless him, the adopted son of a highly leading electronics company. After the death of his father and mother on a car accident, the companies owner, Mr. Yatsuragi, provided the two year old Yushiro a home.
And due to a lot of circumstances, he was now homeless. The only place he use as a shelter for the past three weeks was a manga cafe owned by his uncle. Although the owner was his relative, his uncle couldn't really give him a room for free. Since his uncle also felt pity on Yushiro, he gave him 50% off on his every rent.
Before Yuhsiro left his former house, Mr. Yatsuragi gave him 100K yen to spent. Currently, he still have 10k on his wallet before his bucket kicks off.
Though sure his situation was pitiful and worthy of sympathy, no one really dared to dig the truth. What's worse was that a lot of his classmates glare and stares at him like they saw a garbage that was filthy to its core. Sometimes, they even mention that no parent's woild.be happy to have a child like him, or like, how he would grow up as a dangerous person and that he should be confined as fast as possible.
Psycho, weird, gross and Ungrateful Bastard. This were nicknames he frequently hear, though they differ on the speaker's perspective, they are all hurtful words.
Being judge for something that just a tip from the ice berg was the most painful thing for him. He curse them all as they spout this nonsense despite not knowing anything. Yushiro also understood that people are selfish, and they don't give sympathy to strangers like him, but if they could just shut up their mouth and avoid making him the topic of their shitty conversation, it would be a large help for him.
Rather, they made him the celebrity to initiate an hours of conversation.
I shouldn't have attended class. Wait, why did I even attended school? This brats doesn't know anything about me. Theyre all nuts to their core. But I guess its mu fault. Yeah, its my fault for being gloomy. If I just put up a mask and preten friends, there might be someone that would help me at my sitiation. No, no one, only a real friend woild do that. Well, my luck sucks that I never got anything rare from gacha, let alone an sss type friend.
The teacher entered the room. Everyone's disorganized group quickly returned to their own seats and waited as the class rep remark the beginning of their class.
"Morning class. Today I will be teaching you about quadratics."
The math teacher started running her mouth, and dojng so, a rythm of explaining while writing with a chalk produced an efficient way of teaching.
Among the crowd of students seated properly, only half of them were actually listening to what she was explaining. Maybe it wasn't an effective teaching technique after all. Even Yuro, whose still sitting at the back row near the entrance door, was just scribbling random shapes and arrow at his notebook.
Though math was hated by almost everyone inside the class, Yushiro wasn't in particular part of them. He might even like the subject itself. But he wasn't at the degree of conviction, that he would actually pursue a career realted to numbers and formula.
However, he liked listening to his teacher explaining about the topic, and was diligent of taking notes despite only copying 10 percent of it. But despite shortening the lectures, he still got the roots and understanding, making it easy and much simpler to memorize.
But since these past days, Yushiro had lost interest in listening on every teacher he had on his schedule. It was because for the reason that he was distracted, not from getting kicked out of the house, but tainting his pride on that side.
On that side, everyone had restarted their life. On that side, Yushiro was given the chance to become Yuro. On that side, he wasn't weak neither he was gloomy. On that side, he can talk with everyone he wanted to. That side is his home.
And now, Yuro's pride was tainted on this reality he was rejecting ever since he was a kid.
Yushiro always questioned himself. Was he truly a blessing like his father told him? is really being born in this world a great privelage worth of tears. All nothing but pure misery he faced in his life. Both of his parents died in an accident, and his father's bestfriend adopted him. Maybe he really was blessed.
However, Yushiro only felt loneliness in his life, despite being sorrounded by a new parent, he never felt at home at all. No, maybe he never had any home at all. The only thing he had was a house, nothing less nothing more. And as time pass by, he finally got used with being alone.
He was alone, it was the one fact that would never change.
Right. I will always be alone. Nothing has changed ever since then. Then I will be fine with it, I don't have problem with it. As long as I can be Yuro, I will continue living in this shitty world. I only live to continue living as Yuro, nothing more nothing less. Even though Yuro lost at the battle royale, I promise I will restore his dignity.
After Aegis Synchro's Battle Royale ended last week ago, it's "server" had undergone a maintenance. And today will be the reopening of Aegi's Syncrho's server.
Like any other game that had undergone a server maintenance, the chosen AS players were waiting for an update. New equipments, dungeon and maybe even an island they could explore, no matter what, there would be definitely a new content. And Yushiro cannot waitto dominate on this fields.
But he had two hours more to endure before leaving this hell. And its being too much of hassle swallowing all the class dominance, and the disgusting heirarchy.
Just a little more. There's no reason for me to even listen, I could learn myself. This things she teach is just a context made simpler in texbooks, theyre nothing but ideas that wouldn't practically help and reastically useless in life. But I guess their necessary for entrance exams and passing high school and middle school.
These random babbling from unreasonable topics occupied him at some point. If one person descripted him, he or she would exactly point out how nitpicky Yushiro was. Always complaining about things, and very pessimistic down to his very core. When will be the time he change? Is what had been bugging him all of his life.
He might take on step today, but tomorrow, he will face behind and step down tenfold. Making all the progress he had useless.
But unlike on that side, he would laugh, he would cry and be passionate at the very least coceivable things. He felt satisfied when he finished something, he would felt corageous when being with players along his side. Yuro was truly an opposite of him. Despite being covered in black, Yuro would have a bright light like a moon in the midst of a vast night. Giving hope to those that had long given up on that side.
How could someone know that Yuro was completely different on what he was in real life. Will they treat him kindly and would continue to interact with him like that.
No....
The would not. Only a fictional story would have some compassion like that. All human's have one nature that drove them insane since the start of civilization, and its the addiction of stepping from others. They might pity them, but deep inside, Yushiro was nothing but a miserable individual that simoly got the short stick, a destined person to be at the bottom of the hierarchy.
And what's painful was its no one's fault...
"But if if I had a chance to choose between a hero and a villain, I would choose both," Yushiro muttered to himself slowly as he continue creating patterns about the battle royale last week.
