Chapter 0.19 - Prelude to the journey ahead

The numbers of characters waking up are in sync with the lion king intro. Ahhhh sa hennyaaa kamichu wawa. Excuse my pale imitation of an intro. The sun raises some of its blinding rays on the mountains. Excuse my writing as well. The characters prepared their bags and things to bring. Some brought light belongings, others preparing about a sheet ton of stuff. Now as the limitation of my writing is being released like a mess as it is.

"System working just fine." Mouse1002 entered the last bit of code and blue screens started appearing in front of the characters.

[First Quest: Meeting Place

Objective: Gather in front of the door

Time limit: no time limit.

Rewards: Eve's Blessing

Failure: No change.

It's your choice if you want to leave or not.]

The characters wondered about the last remark of the quest window. Some became curious while others nonchalantly ignored it to proceed to the quests. Other time efficient characters ignored the blue screen to the side and just gathered on the meeting place.

The door where it all started from the creation of the realm up to the point where the characters are. In the past it was plain door and now it’s a door wide and tall as a chapel door. The door is large enough for a mecha or vehicular transformer to go inside. With every character joining the crowd in front of the door, the stage ascended at the push of a button. The scientist that can create dimensional portals slowly went up automatically.

With a megaphone, "Alright wakey wakey guys” the scientist looked at the crowd in front of him. "Have you received the sudden quest?” The characters replied with a yes. "Aye, if you have noticed the last remark, do some of you agree with it?" Some hesitated before replying with a yes since their group mates are in it as well. All of the characters agreed on the condition. "Alright" the scientist continued. "Eve, if you may."

Eve came up on the stage holding the staff with her two hands and began to chant, "Be blessed by the grace and guided by the spirit." Light particles enveloping all of the characters. A pop-up screen appeared.

The managers of the realm see the characters and discussed the details. (Well more like farewell and goodbye stuff)

"You will leave this realm and if you want to go back now as we speak. That will only defy your decision a few minutes back."(Mouse1002)

"We wish you luck on your journey. May the feeling of enlightment be with you."(Eve)

"Don't forget to bring lots of food."(Harukima)

"Kill"(Lun) "Ignore what he said, be safe and look out for danger, okay."(Lun's companion fox)

"Don't forget to come back in one piece."(Marriane)

With the last remark said by the last character of the management group, the characters looked at each other in questionable expressions. They thought it'll be done on this realm. Well the truth is, most of the realm's area isn’t developed yet to an extent of people being able to travel to these places.

Cherian guided the characters on the underground laboratory. He held a megaphone and a flag with an insignia of an eye. "Guys, treat this like a field trip. You will all come back eventually on this realm” and he directed the flag on an underground tunnel. Upon entering the tunnel, the characters are met with cave entrances forming a semi- circle pattern in front of them. Various gems spread across the cave entrance. Each color of the gem spread evenly on each cave entrances. You'll see a mix of red and yellow at one cave and yellow and violet on another. And following color combinations in the same sequence and using different colors.

It was recently discovered by one of the miners who strayed from the planned pathway of the tunnel (leading to the machine/robot’s territory) the discovery of gems that can project light is a vivid sight to behold. But it is an everyday occurrence to the usual miner. The difference of this gem is its ability of the emitting light to create dimensional portals that lead to other worlds. It's like a natural defense mechanism created by the gems to prevent their cores from external harm. But it is on the smaller side, only insect can fit to the little gems’ dimensional portal.

With the help of Cherian interfering with the gems' activation, they had enough time to create a tunnel. But as they dig through, a large gem obstructed their pathway and activates a dimensional portal as a defensive mechanism. The difference with the large gem to the small gems growing about in the entrance is its transport capacity. The small gems can be deadly to someone when it's activated upon contact. Parts of the flesh sent to various places are a gruesome sight.

But the large gem is enough to transport a person. Tested with a live camera feed, they can see the other side's view. An infinite stream of mixed blue and orange hue can be seen, the path faraway appears endless. Then the scientists and researchers tested the dimensional portal with a lab rat to enter and came back, the lab rat obtained footage of the other side of the realm. The test run of the lab rats sent inside the portal gathered great results for the researchers. Alright we move on with the story at the present.

Another pop-up blue screen showed up on each character's screen.
