Dark circles lining the almond shaped blue coloured eyes and a sunken face, the appearance was enough to break his mother's heart.
Alpha Nicholas, Mason's stepfather, was quite well off, if you ignored his personality. A mop of copper blonde hair on top of a tan head, deep blue eyes that were sharp and focused, thin lips, straight nose and chiseled jaw always set in an arrogant expression. He was too unapproachable.
He should take some pages from father's books so that he could learn how to be friendly.
But that arrogant man wouldn't even respond to his mother's inquiries, instead staring blankly in front of him.
Mason rolled his eyes and mentally added that he won't be as pathetic as this man, to the top of his list of the don'ts .
Gerard, his stepfather's lapdog *cough* Beta, called out to Alpha Nicholas, "Nick, I think you should go back to work. There are too many loose ends to tie before you hand over your position to Mason. Delaying this any longer..."
"Give him some time to come back. I'll send him to wor-", "Please, just stop this!" Mason cut off his mother with an angry growl.
"This always happens! Every. Single. Year. He goes off in some space and he doesn't even care for you! Mother, what do you see in this man? Why would you choose to abandon your perfect mate for...this." Mason's shoulders were heaving as he panted. He was too angry that all the bottled up feelings from the past few years were threatening to come out.
"Mason, right now you aren't thinking straight. He is your alpha and you've got to respect him." His mother said as she fought back the tears that were threatening to spill.
"HE IS NO ALPHA OF MINE! I'll only respect dad in this life!" Mason growled and rushed to his room, closing the door with a bang. Gerard and May, Mason's mother, flinched at that sound.
"He is just a teenager, May. He'll get over it." Gerard sympathetically patted Mason's mother's shoulders before eyeing his dazed Alpha. He sighed while running a hand through his platinum blond hair.
"No, I'll go talk to him. He's almost 18 soon. He still doesn't have the mind to distinguish what's right and wrong. He should not be kept from the adult's world."
"Do you want me to come with you?" Gerard rubbed his eyebrows as he said this, still looking at the lost Alpha.
May shook her head while saying, "Just put the Alpha to bed and come to Mason's room. I don't think he would trust my words."
"Alright. Heave-ho, up we go." Gerard skilfully carried his alpha by placing his arms around his shoulder and dragging the now unconscious alpha. It was a habit of Nicholas'. He would fall asleep after being in his daze. Gerard was too used to this, that all he could do was sigh. Nick should be thankful that I am such a comprehensive Beta.
