Thank you for reading my second comic series "おばあちゃんを送った日々| Sending off Obaachan". I have enjoyed reflecting on happy memories with my grandmother while creating this series.
This final chapter is a reverse of Chapter 2, in which my mother and I journeyed to my grandmother's city from Melbourne, Australia. Here, I make the return journey with my father after saying goodbye to my grandmother one last time.

A comic series about my Japanese grandmother's (Obaachan) death in 2019.
It features various cultural practices surrounding death in rural Japan, as also seen in the Academy award-winning film Departures (2008).
The series was published in Real Matter magazine in 2020.
It was also used in a Japanese studies lecture at La Trobe University to illustrate practices of everyday religion in a Japanese setting.
