“Wow, to think that happened,” said Orpha as he ate his lunch.
As soon as school started, and lunch break began, Ash and his group of friends started talking about their weekend. Knowing his friends, they weren’t the type to blaber their mouth, and he needed to let them know about the warning that Emily gave him. But first, he needed to explain about Emily or else, his friends wouldn’t take the warning seriously.
“So, we just have to be on the lookout for Roe and his lackeys,” said LJ as he gave out a yawn.
“That’s easier said than done,” said Orpha.
“Why’s that?” Ash asked.
“Roe and his lackeys are everywhere,” Orpha answered, “You two only care about your school score and eating so you guys don’t know the gossip.”
“Why do you think we have you here?” said LJ as he points at him.
“Should I be offended by that?” Orpha turns to Ash.
Was LJ stating that Orpha was stupid and he was only good as well as useful in knowing the ropes around the school?
Ash shakes his head, “LJ’s just messing with you Orpha.”
“Am I?” LJ smirks at Orpha.
“You’re lucky I've known you since middle school…” Orpha wanted to punch him, “Alpha or not, I’m pretty sure I can take you down.”
“Sure~” LJ gave out another yawn.
“Did you stay up playing games again?” Ash asked.
LJ stretches out his arm, “There was nothing else to do to pass time during the weekend.”
“I guess the family meeting didn’t go very well,” said Orpha.
“You have no idea,” said LJ with another yawn, “Wake me up when lunch is over.”
Ash turns his attention back to Orpha, “Going back to the gossip?”
“Right,” said Orpha as he finishes his food, “Rumor has it that Roe’s older brother was once the person that ran things behind the school. After his brother graduated, Roe took over when he came to the school.”
“His brother ran the school?”
“Yeah,” said Orpha as though it didn’t concern him, “He had the students doing his bidding while threatening them and stuff.”
“Why didn’t anyone go to the teachers?” Ash asked.
“Who in their right mind would defy an Alpha that has such strong pheromones that makes a person pee the moment he gets close to them?” said Orpha, “Or so the rumors goes.”
“So, we’re not exactly safe at school then?”
Orpha gave a shrug, “I guess not.”
“Hey, I get it that you and LJ don’t really care since you two can fight,” said Ash with a pale face, “But I can’t fight remember.”
He pinches his arm muscle, “Do you not see this? It’s just skin and bones…!”
“Relax,” said Orpha, “Just make sure you’re either with me or LJ or a teacher, then you’ll be fine.”
“You are such a caring friend,” Ash gave out a long sigh.
“Be a man Ash,” said Orpha as he gave him a light punch on the shoulder, “You’ll be fine.”
I wonder if I should go take some self-defense classes?
The first school day since that incident with Emily went by without a problem. Hazel didn’t hang out with them since Emily was still in the hospital, recovering. She was only at school to get homework material for Emily and left as soon as she got them. The next few days went by just like that. Except, on Friday, Ash found himself in a pinch.
He just happened to be running an errand for a teacher, when everyone just happened to be still in class. Ash had his back against the wall while carrying rolls stacks of homework for his class in his hand. Before him was Roe’s lackeys who were smirking and chuckling at him. Ash had a bad feeling about what was going to happen.
[Relax. Just make sure you’re either with me or LJ or a teacher, then you’ll be fine.]
Fine my ass! What the fuck is this?! A classic cliché?! Something out of a movie?! What am I?! A shy female lead that’s getting cornered by the villains?! Are you kidding me?!
“Can I help you guys?” Ash asked while masking his nervousness.
One of the lackey nods, “Roe wants to talk with you. Come with us.”
“I’m a bit busy right now, so I can’t come with you,” Ash gave out a small smile.
Like I’m going to fall for that. What do you take me for?!
“It’ll just be real quick,” said the lackey..
Who the fuck do you think you’re trying to trick here?
Ash gave out a nervous laugh, “Then, how about I turn these back to the teacher real quick and then come with you guys?”
Ash tried to slip past them, but the lackey quickly got in his way. He reaches out and grabs Ash by the shoulder, “Come with us while we’re asking you nicely.”
Ash twitches at his words. He was reminded by what Emily told him, and his body was suddenly filled with disgust. Ash was definitely not a fighter. It wasn’t in him to fight with other people, or even cause harm to his own body. He rather go through the easy route and live peacefully without involving any kind of violence. But, it doesn’t seem like he was going to get out of this without getting physical.
Moreover, the lackey’s hand felt very disgusting. He wanted to snap off his hand or even bite it off. Ash wondered if this was his Omega instinct kicking in. Judging by the tone of voice they were using and how they carry themselves, these people weren’t going to let him leave. Ash gave out a deep sigh. He was weighing in his head to either get in trouble with the school, or get in trouble with his parents.
Ash slowly looks at the lackey whose hand was still on his shoulder and smiles at him, “Remove your hand while I’m asking nicely as well.”
The lackeys chuckled at him. The one holding on to his shoulder smirks at him and reaches out to grab him, “Alright, let’s do this the hard way then.”
BAM!
The lackey that had his hand on Ash’s shoulder was suddenly seeing stars and papers flying in the air. Ash had jammed the homework stack he was carrying right into the jugular of the lackey super hard. The lackey smacked down against the floor with his back. The other lackeys were stunned by the sudden action. They didn’t react fast enough to run after Ash who was already running away.
Because they were blocking his way to his classroom, Ash had to run the opposite way. Moments later, the lackeys were chasing after him. Ash had never ran so hard in his life. Beside his first heat, this was the second time he feared for his life.
JUST LEAVE ME ALONE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! I DIDN’T EVEN DO SHIT TO YOU!
