The woman entered the palace and saw dozens of people running around and preparing for the wedding.
“Wow…” She muttered sarcastically to herself. “Wesley actually seems to care about this life. He’s got little servants running around for him.”
“Hey!” A voice called out. “You, in the red cloak.”
The woman turned around and saw a boy with orange hair running towards her.
“Can I help you?” The girl grumbled.
“I know most of the people in Camelot, but I’ve never seen you before. Is this your first time here?”
“It is. I’m here for the wedding.”
“Oh. You must be a friend of Wesley. My name’s Arthur Pendragon.” He extended his hand, but the girl just looked at it and didn’t shake it.
“So you’re his fiance?” She grunted.
Arthur pressed his lips and gave her a stern look.
“If the wedding bothers you, you don’t have to stay.”
“No, no. I just had a rough journey. Don’t let me ruin your special day.” The girl forced a smile.
Arthur smiled back and watched as the girl walked off. He didn’t like the looks of that girl. There was something about her that just… bothered him. But he wouldn’t let that ruin his wedding.
***
It was two hours before the ceremony, and the guests were revelling in the ballroom. Bands were playing gentle music and many of the guests were dancing with each other to the soft tunes.
“Now where is he…” Whispered the girl under her breath. “Oh! There!” Her eyes fixated on Wesley, who was dancing with Arthur in the middle of the ballroom. She watched as Arthur twirled Wesley into his arms before leaning over to kiss him. A few people around the couple clapped at their dance’s finale. Then the woman walked over and tapped Wesley on the shoulder.
“May I have this dance?” She asked him as she held out her hand. She wanted to study him, get familiar with him… get close to him.
“If Arthur doesn’t mind!” Wesley responded as he looked at Arthur.
“Go ahead.” He smiled, still a bit suspicious of the girl. But not enough to deny her a friendly dance with his gay fiance. With Arthur’s permission, he grabbed the girls hand and she pulled him away. She put her hands on his waist and looked into his eyes as they began to dance.
“I should kill you right now.” Wesley whispered to her, a genuine smile on his face.
The girl’s red eyes widened in surprise. ‘Did he figure me out?’ She thought.
“Whatever do you mean, your Highness?” She addressed him like that because he was practically already Arthur’s husband.
“Oh, please!” Wesley giggled, still whispering. “You forgot to change your eye colour. And what’s more, there’s a dagger under your cloak. Not much gets past me.”
The girl laughed, somewhat loudly. Wesley twirled her around.
“You’ve always been one of the few people who can make me laugh!” She whispered to him through a smile of her own. “So why don’t you kill me now?”
“It would ruin my wedding!” He told her. “Plus, it wouldn’t give you a fair shot. It’s safe to assume you’re here to kill me. Don’t worry, I won’t tell Arthur. This is between the two of us.”
“You caught me.” She admitted as the two swayed in dance. “You’re pretty confident! You should have more faith in me, Wesley! After all, I worked directly under you for the azeel project.”
“Yet you’re still trying to kill me.” Wesley knew she was unaware that killing him would end the life of the Azeels. And that was the real reason he wasn’t going to kill her right now. And the real reason why he wanted to give her a chance.
