Chapter 2: Special

My eyes weren’t even focused on the rest of the room, I was still trying to handle the pain that just faded.

I struggled to get up until I turned and noticed the men by the chairs that were looking over the massacre.

They were now staring at me, the other vampires were as well.

What seemed to be the head vampire looked at the man across the room.

“Brother, you’ve lost your food twice now, a human should be easy...”

“Master, he’s...”

“Ah, I see so it looks like we have a youthful. newborn... Though how peculiar, you should be diving into the feast before you, your thirst must be quite rabid.”

A younger-looking man next to the head vampire spoke, he sneered at me as if I was a monster.

He seemed quite critical.

“And no vampire especially a newborn should be able to get away so quickly. You but close your eyes and he covered a distance not even one of those stinking dogs could cover in double the time. How...?”

There was an older looking vampire with a deep sad sounding voice on the other side of the head vampire, he spoke looking down than to head vamp.

“It could be.. a gift of some sorts... some of our kind develops some special features...”

The younger one spoke as if refuting it.

“A newborn shouldn’t be able to use such gifts..”

The head vampire spoke as if to break up the fight.

“Brothers... there are some special cases...”

He spoke once more to the whole room.

“Take him.”

The men on the floor stood up quickly and came running after me, I didn’t expect such a change in conversation.

Though the three up by the chairs still watched and chatted.

“Let’s just see what happens from here, if he dies, so be it... But if he lives.. well. then we’ll have an interesting show..”

The older vampire spoke.

“Why waste time with that, we’ve all seen such examples many times before..”

The younger one spoke.

“It’s all to see if our brothers truly deserve to be apart of our cause, losing against a newborn is..”

The middle one spoke.

“Unforgivable...”

He had a creepy smile and looked at me.

As they talked away I stood backed up against the wall, as a bunch of bloody vampires came at me.

The speed of them was incredible, they moved leaving a mist like trail behind them.

One man who reached me first, had his hand covered in blood and every fingernail was filed to a point.

Those same nails rushed into my shoulder blade, they punctured me but no blood came out.

It was as if I was a china doll and he broke a piece of me.

My body crashed into the wall, creating much bigger cracks in the wall than myself.

His hand went for my face, the other still somewhat dug into my shoulder.

I tried fighting, but his hand started pulling my neck apart.

His mouth came closer to the same place I was bitten before and I could hear a hiss as his fangs were about to rip my neck apart.

I looked off at the men watching me, my eyes met with the head vampire.

He had a creepy closed-mouth smile on his face, and he spoke.

“Brothers there no harm in putting on a little show, even if it was quite anticlimactic.”

The younger one spoke.

“I would have thought he would put up more of a fight... Newborns are known for their strength..”

The old one spoke.

“But not skill..”
