“Good morning.” Alder placed a cup of coffee on a small table next to Earl. Earl grunted and sat up,
“What time is it?”
“It’s almost twelve, you were up late last night,” Alder replied.
“What did I do? All I can remember last was our fight.” He paused, “I’m so sorry Alder, you must think I’m a terrible boyfriend.”
“Don’t say that!” He quickly sat next to Earl on the couch and took his hand.
“We both acted wrong yesterday, but I’ll always still love you.” He quickly put his hands over his face in embarrassment.
“You love me?” Earl leaned over closer to Alder's face. Alder could sense the heat of him close,
“It- it slipped out. I’m sorry.”
“I love you too.” Alder peaked through the cracks of his fingers to see Earl looking at him. Their faces both flushed red.
“You’re so cute.” He lifted Alder’s hands off his face and leaned closer into a gentle kiss.
As each second passed Earl noticed from the corner of his eye little petals falling.
“Your hair?” Alder gasped and covered his head.
“Sometimes if I get excited flowers bloom in my hair,” He explained timidly.
“Don’t be embarrassed, it's cute.” Alder lifted his head and made a slight smile.
“Thank you.” He blushed.
As they both leaned in for another kiss pink daisies began to bloom from each strand of Alder’s hair. Time seemed to stop, letting them enjoy each second. Together they thought,
I could stay here forever.
