Nero and Nico were getting back from work. It was just a small incident with some random demon, so it didn't last long. They planned on making a stop in the city center to get something for Y/n's second birthday. Nero couldn't help but remind himself about the day he found out Kyrie was pregnant, then the actual birth happened. He was coming back from work too. He smiled at that memory. Nico found an empty spot by the mall. They got out of the van and started shopping. They walked in the toy store, not really having an idea about what to get.

-Maybe this one? – asked Nico pointing at the box of blocks.

-They are too small. – answered Nero. – He may choke.

-Have you ever seen him putting anything in his mouth? – said Nico. – Apart from food?

-I'm not going to risk it. – muttered Nero. He grabbed a big Ironman stuffie. – What about this one?

-Stupid question, you know Y/n loves Ironman. – chuckled Niko. – Look! – she said and pointed at the electric car for a kid.

-Isn't Y/n too young for one of these? – asked Nero, unsure. Kyrie would kill him if something happened to Y/n.

-Then he will grow to it. – argued Nico. - He will get it from auntie Nico if daddy doesn't want to buy it. – she said and took the car.

They paid up for the toys and packed them in the van. Then Nico started the car and drove home. Nero smiled when he saw Y/n playing in the sandpit he made for him. Nico parked the van in the garage. She carried the toys in the house, while Nero went to his son.

-Daddy! – grinned Y/n and run up to him. Nero picked him up chuckling and hugged him tight.

-Happy birthday Champ. – said Nero kissing Y/n's cheek. - Wanna see the presents?

-Pwesents? – asked Y/n, slowly getting better in talking.

-Yeah. You get stuff on your birthday. They are presents. – explained Nero, seeing the confusion on his son's face.

He carried Y/n in the house and smiled when he saw Kyrie with the cake. She lighted two candles on it. They all sat around the table, Nero had Y/n in his lap. Y/n looked around, watching his mother's ministrations, not really knowing what was he supposed to do.

-Blow the candles. – said Kyrie and showed Y/n what did that meant. Y/n leaned against the table and blew out the small flame on the candle. It earned him a cheer from his parents and aunt.

-Time for presents. – squealed Nico, exited to show him the car she got him. First Nero handed him the Ironman stuffie. Y/n gasped and hugged the stuffie tight. He absolutely loved it. Y/n thanked his parents, while his attention was occupied with the stuffie. – My turn. – grinned Nico, showing him the car.

-Wow! – said Y/n looking at the car with wide eyes.

Kyrie was ready to scold her, when she saw that Y/n already sat the Ironman in the passenger's seat and got behind the wheel himself. He saw how daddy drove the van few times, so he knew it was what he was supposed to do. Nico ran to Y/n and explained him how did the car work and what should he do to make it move.

-Isn't it a toy for bigger kids? – asked Kyrie looking at Nero.

-I thought that too, but Y/n develops faster than the other kids anyway. – answered Nero, wrapping his arm around her waist. - Let's give it a shot maybe.

-Alright. – sighed Kyrie and went to the living room. She sat down on the couch and watched as her son was listening to Nico. Nero joined Kyrie on the couch. Y/n giggled when he pushed the button and the car moved a bit. When he was prepared for the toys response he pushed the button again. When he was getting close to the wall, he turned right to avoid it.

-See Nico? He's driving for a first time in his life and he still does it better than you. – chuckled Nero, making Nico scoff at his remark. She smiled though, when she saw the amount of fun Y/n had with the car.
