Few weeks later Dante figured it out that it would be good to come back to Devil May Cry. Y/n pouted at that message, because he won't have anyone to tease anymore. Dante only patted his shoulder and told him he could visit him anytime he wanted. That made Vergil think. Maybe he was bothering his son and his family. The fact that he didn't really have anywhere to go was on his mind constantly.
-Are you okay? – asked Nero seeing that something was off. They were sitting in the living room watching TV.
-I'm fine. – answered Vergil. The last thing he needed was someone's pity. He forgot about Y/n's abilities though. His grandson was eating lunch on the couch. Even though Y/n didn't like reading minds too much, he got worried.
-Dad, can we talk? – he asked.
Nero nodded and walked outside with his son. Y/n told him about Vergil's insecurity. Nero sighed. He felt mixed emotions. His father wasn't present in his life, he started the whole ordeal with separating himself from his human side, he took his devil bringer. Everything just to get more power. On the other hand he was his father, he got along with Y/n. And he didn't have anywhere to go. Nero could keep his eye on him if he asked him to stay, but at the same time he might put Kyrie in danger.
-Did you find any evil plans in his head? – asked Nero.
Y/n only shook his head in the response. Nero took another deep breath and decided to give it a shot. He walked back in the house and started talking to Vergil about it. Y/n was told to not to disturb them, so he went to the garage, to see what his aunt was up to.
-Need help? – asked Y/n. She was working on some new weapon.
-Thank you N/n, but you can't see it. – she chuckled. – It will be for you.
-Okay, then I'm not disturbing you. – Y/n chuckled as well and walked out of the garage.
Since he had nowhere to go he sat down on the stairs in front of the house. He looked up at the sky and took a deep breath. He smiled as he felt the sun warming up his face. This was one of the small things he was fighting the demons for. He loved peaceful moments like that. It was disturbed when Nero opened the door and told Y/n the matter of Vergil staying with them was done.
-He's staying. – sighed Nero. – He was fighting back at first but when I asked him to stay for you, he agreed. You must really have influence on him.
-Maybe you two will be able to loosen up a bit when you're around each other. – chuckled Y/n and got back home with his father.
Time skip
On the evening Nero got a call from Morison. He told him that Patty is looking for someone to accompany her daughter on the prom. Y/n was the only young man he could trust, so he wanted Nero to convince his son to attend. Nero knew that would be hard thing to do. Y/n refused to even attend his prom, cause he didn't like the kids he were going to school with him. And from what Nero knew Patty's daughter was attending to some prestige school for rich kids.
-That will be one hell of a job. – sighed Nero.
-Oh please boy, you're killing demons for a living. – chuckled Morison.
-Then why didn't you call Y/n directly? – he asked already knowing the answer.
-Cause he doesn't listen to anyone but you and Kyrie. – he said confirming Nero's thoughts.
-We'll talk to him. – he sighed before hanging up. It was already time to sleep so he got in the bed beside Kyrie.
-Who was that? – she asked.
-Morison. – answered Nero. – Remember Patty Lowell? Her daughter is going to the prom and she looks for a boy who could go there with her. Morison thought about our Y/n.
-Oh boy. – she giggled.
-Yeah. – chuckled Nero pulling Kyrie against his chest. – But I'm not going to bother us or him with it now. I will need strength to have this conversation with him. – Kyrie chuckled at his remark and fell asleep in his arms.
