Y/n was sitting in his room, playing the guitar. For some reason he felt like playing the lullaby his mom used to sing to him when he was a child. He finished one song, then started another. He was bored as hell lately. After completing the Bloody Palace with his family he had nothing else to do. He was humming "Shall never surrender" as he played. That was a song he wrote when he was sixteen. He wanted to be a rock star back then.
-To think I almost ran away from my fate of a demon slayer. – he chuckled. – Would I be that bored too if I made music? Maybe not, but I probably wouldn't meet uncle Dante, or grandpa, so it's not that bad I guess.
When Y/n got bored with the guitar, he stood up stretching his muscles out and went down to the living room. He grabbed a snack, then looked around trying to find something to get himself busy with. Even the console didn't get his attention. He sighed and just laid down on the couch.
-Boring day, huh? – asked Vergil walking out of his room. – Let's take a walk, I want to show you something. -Y/n sat up and stretched. He didn't have anything better to do anyway.
-Let's go then.
Time skip
-What is that place? – asked Y/n, looking around.
-The ruins of Sparda's mansion. – answered Vergil. – Me and Dante lived here when we were kids. This is where we were born. It's exactly where everything started. I wanted you to see it, cause I want it to be a reminder to you, that with power, comes the responsibility. Our demon souls make us pursuit the might. You have it. I want you to remember to always be in control and watch out for the moment when your demon side will want you to throw everything you have away. I had to fight Dante for most of my life before I understood it. I don't want you to repeat my mistakes. Be like Nero. I wish me and his mother worked out. I wish I knew about him. I wish I had a family, like him.
-How did you meet her? – asked Y/n. – I've been curious about the story, but I didn't want to read your mind to know it.
-Well, I was in Fortuna, before I was caught by Mundus. – sighed Vergil. – I met a girl and we were in love, at least that was what I thought. But one day she just vanished without explanation. It's not me who left, it's her. That's why I needed power so much. I blamed myself for losing our mother and my love. Now I see that she just ran away from me.
-Wow. – was all Y/n could say. Vergil chuckled at his reaction.
-Back to the main subject. – he said. – I was thinking about renewing the mansion, you know? Dante gave you the sword and all...I'll give you that house. It will take some time, but I want you to have it. This house should have life in it again.
-It will take a lot of money to rebuild it. – said Y/n.
-Not exactly. – chuckled Vergil. – Father build it with his power. – he explained. – All it needs is some magic. It took him months to do it properly.
-How can I help? – chuckled Y/n. – Cause that's what you want.
-That's right my boy. – smirked Vergil and led Y/n in the hall that was still standing.
He touched the wall under the family portrait and poured some of his power into it. He wall fixed itself slowly. Y/n walked up to Vergil and touched the wall as well. He focused his powers on the intention to create. Vergil widened his eyes as the whole mansion was rebuilding itself. The furniture were coming back to their original look too. In the matter of minutes the house looked exactly like how he remembered it from his childhood days. The last thing that got fixed was the portrait.
-So that's how Sparda looked like as a human, huh? – asked Y/n looking up at it.
-Yeah. – answered Vergil. - I never though I will see this place in perfect state ever again.
