The young man in a black leather coat looked up at the neon sign. He took a deep breath. He wasn't sure if he was right in his planning, he felt lost after the recent events that took place in his life. He was looking for a place for him to stay.
He opened the door to the shop and walked in slowly. He smiled lightly seeing the guy at the desk with familiar white hair on his head. His eyes were closed in a nap and his legs were crossed on the desk. Y/n smiled wider as he walked up to him. He didn't change much since the last time he saw him.
-Nature calls? - asked Dante looking up at the intruder.
-That's what you have to say to a friend you didn't see for so long? - chuckled Y/n. - Dantie, you disappointed me.
-Y/n? - Dante widened his eyes, then jumped right on his feet laughing. Y/n grinned as Dante recognized him. They gave each other a bear hug. - How have you been?
-Not bad. - sighed Y/n sitting on the other chair.
-OK, that's what you always say. -answered Dante crossing his arms. - Now really, how are you doing?
Y/n crossed his arms against his chest and let out a tired sigh. Dante and his brother could always read him like an open book. He grabbed a slice of pizza from the box on Dante's desk and took a bite. Then he started talking.
-I was in Raccoon City. - he said. - I worked in the police, after a while I got promoted to a member of S.T.A.R.S. Everything went okay, until we were deployed into the Arklay Mountains. Did you know that there was a hidden laboratory there? - Dante shook his head no, so Y/n continued his story – The bastards were working on the biological weapon, T-virus. It turned people into zombies. I watched my friends becoming rotten mindless creatures, and my lover turned out to be a traitor, who led us to die.
-I heard that something happened there, at least before the electricity got cut off. - nodded Dante. - I didn't know that it was you though.
-I blew the place up. - chuckled Y/n. -But I have to admit that in Arklay...it was a first time in my life when I was really scared. I'm not afraid of demons, hell, I'm one of them myslef. But demons think. They are controlled by some stronger demon sometimes. But there always is a purpose of their actions. Zombies don't think. Their minds are dead, but the bodies are controlled by the damn virus. And I was afraid that I will become one too.
-The virus would affect a demon? -asked Dante.
-I don't know. - Y/n shook his head. -But when I thought that one of my friends could face me, infected with that thing...it was terrible.
Dante looked at his friend. He was the same age as him, and he knew him for as long as he remembered. He saw that Y/n took the recent events hard. What kind of a friend would he be if he abandoned him in a time of crysis?
-Do you have a place to stay? - asked Dante.
-Not yet. - answered Y/n.
-Stay here then. - said Dante. - I have a spare bedroom upstairs, plus you're the best swordsman I know. Right after me that is. - added Dante with a smirk.
-Vergil kicked your ass too. - chuckled Y/n. - Thanks. By the way, how's your brother?
-We had a small bicker lately, but he came to his senses and came home with me. - chuckled Dante. - In fact he's on a mission now and should be getting back soon.
Y/n nodded and smiled
lightly hearing that. Vergil and Dante never got along well, but they
could unite whenever they had a common enemy. That meant that if they
wanted, they could bear with each other. Y/n always told them that
brothers should support each other. The information that Vergil was
around made him feel warm in his chest. After all he was Y/n's first
crush.
