Y/n and Vergil came back from their date late in the night. They had a dinner and watched a movie at the cinema. It has been a while since Vergil enjoyed such a simple kind of entertainment as this. They were met with a sight of Dante packing up some weapons.

-What's wrong? - asked Y/n.

-I got a job. - he said. - A demon looking like mom came in and said Mundus was getting ready to attack human world again.

-Where? - this time it was a time for Vergil to ask.

-Mallet Island. - retorted Dante.

-We're going with you. - said Y/n, earning a nod from Vergil. Dante stopped packing up and looked at them.

-Who's going to keep an eye on the business? - he asked.

-Lady. - answered Y/n as he was already holding the phone to his ear. After explaining the situation to her, Y/n made another call. He didn't want to do this but he had to. Mundus was hell's enemy number one. - Let's go.

Time skip

Vergil didn't say a word ever since he shook Trish's hand. Y/n watched him concerned. This must've been hard for both him and Dante. Trish left them at the entrance to the castle. The three hunters made ther way to the gates, looking around cautiously. The gates opened and closed on their own. Y/n summoned his sword as he felt strong demon aura around.

-I feel him here. - said Y/n. - That's where he was hiding all this time.

-I though our father dealed with him once and for all. - answered Dante.

-My father wanted him gone the second he stole the crown and called himslef the king. - sighed Y/n. - I'm going to get it back for him. Maybe then he will finally see me as a good thing in his life. - he said and started walking. Dante and Vergil looked at each other then followed Y/n.

They faced different kind of demons charging at them, but Y/n's determination didn't stop the trio for long. Few times they met Trish on their way. She was leading them to Mundus. They made their way to the next chamber.

Y/n stopped Dante and Vergil from walking further. He noticed how the big pool of black water started moving. In the matter of few seconds the huge monster appeared in front of them. Y/n aleady knew what it was, he was tortured with it when he was younger. He pushed the twins to the next door.

-Go, I got this. - he said.

-Not an option, I'm not leaving you alone. - said Vergil.

-Yes you are, Nightmare finds your weaknesses and uses them against you. - explained Y/n. - I'm not risking putting you in danger.

-What makes you think I will let you put yourself in danger? - argued Vergil.

-End of discussion, go! - commanded Y/n and pushed them out. Vergil grabbed Y/n by the collar and kissed him hard. He pulled away after few seconds.

-Good luck. - said Vergil and let Y/n close the door.

Y/n turned to Nightmare and jumped to the left, avoiding the attack. Y/n knew how to deal with it, he faced this monster many times in his life. Mostly when his father wanted to get rid of him. Y/n turned into his Devil Trigger. He aimed at the ball soming out of Nightmare every few seconds. He used his most powerful attacks to smash it as fast as he could. He knew that the longer he would struggle with Nightmare, the worse it will get. Few times he was sent to abyss, where he was forced to fight Vergil and Dante for his life.

-This is just my imagination. - he said through gritted teeth as he slashed Dante's figure in half for the fifth time. - I'll kick you ass.

Y/n got out of the abbyss and went straight for the ball. He finally smashed it, making Nightmare falldown without strength. Y/n cut the Nightmare to pieces and burned it to dust. He made sure there was nothing left from the demon.

-Time to find Vergil and Dante. - he said sighing.
