The fight begins with Zolhalla casting out red lightning from his sword targeting Alistor as Auroa moves out of the way. Alistor jumped out of the way as Maigashi shot a few lightning arrows at the warrior. Zolhalla didn't hesitate to move out of the way as he took the damage with the arrows sticking on parts of him as he pulled them out.
“Child's play!” Muttered Zolhalla.
Tannen catches Zolhalla's blade with his scythe in a clash. Alistor attempted to strike Zolhalla with a few swings from his sword but missed as he simply dodged each swing. Tannen catches him off guard by attacking him from behind, damaging him. Maigashi suddenly grabs him from behind as Tannen binds his arms and legs with his magic.
“I am a Gladiator that won’t be put...”
Zolhalla was cut in the middle of his speech as Alistor cut through his kneecap.
“Why are you fighting us?” Tannen asked.
He refused to answer. He breaks out easily from the bind as red electrical energy erupts around him.
"You can't break my spirit from a simple bind. As long good is still around, I will not fall!"
Maigashi tried again to grab him but was chucked away. He goes to strike Alistor again with his sword. Red sparks flashed out with every clash as Alistor couldn't do anything but defend. Tannen and Maigashi attempt to intervene but get trapped within a lightning barrier, caging them both in.
"I can probably break us out free. So don't count us out yet." Tannen noted as they watched Alistor struggle.
Tannen pulled out a bag of popcorn from his bag to sit and watch.
“You’re seriously eating at this time?” Maigashi asked in disbelief.
Tannen nodded as he offered some to him. They continue watching.
“I’ll smite you!” Yelled the warrior.
“Didn’t you already say that? Your catchphrase is repetitive.”
Alistor was finally disarmed as his blade flew into the corner.
“Now to finish you!”
Zolhalla lifted Alistor up in the air with red lightning from his sword. He receives a shock all over his body.
“I am victorious! Good triumph over evil once again.”
He charges up energy in a massive electrical ball.
“Time to end this!”
As Zolhalla fires the blast with Maigashi bearing to not look, Tannen continues snacking away.
The scene fades white from his blast as nobody knows what's happening. Moments later, Zolhalla is in pain as the light fades away. Auroa saves Alistor by diverting Zolhalla's attack back at him.
"But how? My most vigorous attack backfired?" He falls to his knees, breathing tensely with his very little energy.
The others break free from the lightning cage. Alistor was freed from his bind as Auroa explained the details to their opponent.
"I see you're confused and wondering what happened? After studying your fighting style and pattern, it was easy for me to step in."
Auroa went on as Alistor and Zolhalla got speechless.
"The wind is my affinity, so lightning won't do anything since I can control the direction of your attack."
Zolhalla loses patience as he rushes at Auroa.
"Your words lose me, boy?"
He fired more bolts of red lightning from his sword, but Auroa dodged away, following the dance to the winds.
"I am the wind; can you follow its dance? I see right through your dance; do you see mine?"
Zolhalla loses patience as he fires more bolts of lightning recklessly. Auroa dodges them all easily as he close in on the warrior. He makes a massive swing with his sword to prevent him from getting close, but Auroa's body evaporates into thin air.
“What? Where did you go?”
Confused, Auroa disarms him from behind.
“Get off me! Fiend!” Struggled Zolhalla.
He tossed Auroa away, allowing him to flow freely within the air as he evaporated again.
“Where did you go again?”
Auroa’s voice is heard from within the air.
"I am the wind; can you follow its dance?
“What?” Muttered Zolhalla.
"I am the wind; can you follow its dance?
“Stop saying that!”
"I am the wind; can you follow its dance?
“I said stop that!” He cried.
"I can follow your dance. But can you follow mine?"
“Agggrhhh! You are driving me crazy.”
Whispers from Auroa's voice flow through his head as he tries covering his ears. The sounds continue to flow within Zolhalla's eardrums, causing him to get into a nervous breakdown begging it to stop. Auroa solidified into thin air as Zolhalla rushed in to throw a punch. The punch went through Auroa's body like a ghost as he evaporated again.
“What are you? Are you a charmer of the dead?” Wondered Zolhalla.
Auroa's voice laughs as it echoes in his ears.
"I said, stop that! This isn't fair."
Auroa answers back to his challenger’s question.
"No… I'm no charmer of the dead, no. I am just the wind." Auroa whispered.
Out of desperation, Zolhalla unleashes a wave of lightning from his blade to end the battle. Auroa reappeared and lashed out his whip, nullifying the lightning attack until Zolhalla was tired. In the end, the gladiator gets sent flying back by his wind. Zolhalla was now down and out as Alistor and the party went to check his condition. As the fight ended, Auroa recovered the groceries he left on the side.
"This man is a nut job," Nodded Maigashi.
The gladiator quickly regained his consciousness as the others took a step back.
“I will never give up…. ow.”
"So you're the warrior sealed away within the artifact." Tannen summed up.
Zolhalla was hesitant to trust them.
“Your one tough cookie to brake.” Chuckled Tannen as he opened up another bag of popcorn to eat.
Alistor attempts to convince the gladiator he is not evil but makes no progress till Sairori appears moments later. Sairori turned around to face Zolhalla as they explained the situation to him.
"So he was brewing the news, but you handled the situation. You're having trouble convincing him? Maybe I can." Sairori assured as he approached the misled warrior.
They both spoke for quite a while till Sairori showed an Emblem from Mathias and his title. Suddenly Alistor's Rose sword started to emit again as the spirit emerged to confront the gladiator.
“You seem familiar. Have we met before?” Questioned Zolhalla.
The warrior now stands in the presence of an old friend.
“You lost your memories during the last battle. This will help you remember.”
The spirit placed its palm upon Zolhalla's forehead to restore his memories. A flashback starts to flow through his eyes as the scene fades again. He is seen fighting alongside the previous warriors that opposed Baronia in one fight after the next.
"I remember now! There we are, standing off with that monster. Oh, and that monster too. A whole fleet of pawns charging at us."
A final scene shows Zolhalla's fate as he struggles inside the fortress of Baronia. Separated from his team, a bunch of pawns overwhelms him as the doctor seals him away, eradicating his memories.
The flashback ends as the Rose Warrior explains their fate, which saddens him. The warrior placed his hands upon one of Zolhalla's shoulders to rise again.
"So you already died, but live on as a spirit to assist the new generation. I am the only one that still stands alive."
He restores Zolhalla's mood as he explains about Alistor and the team's quest in the battle against the Baronia Empire.
"So you're seeking out the rest of our friends to aid Mathias?" Asked Zolhalla
Alistor nods in agreement.
“Then it is settled then.”
Zolhalla's spirit to fight was back as he raised his sword, firing a few bolts of red lightning from his blade.
"From this day forward, I, Zolhalla, will fight by your side."
Everything worked out as the Rose Warrior asked his friend one last question before returning to his blade.
"Who sent you to attack us? If I may ask, if you remember a name?"
"It was a wee little man I picture. He goes by the name of Woodrow the Little. He was pretty convincing."
Everyone was not surprised to hear Sullivan was behind this. Alistor then questions the location of the enemy's hideout.
"I remember crashing through a wall within an old creaky ruin. Oh! I ran through a simple vast jungle and made my way through the field and into town."
Tannen then reminds the others that they must return home to dispose of part of their supply and grocery. Auroa was the one seen carrying all of the bags in an irritated mood.
“I’ve had it with these bags.”
Zolhalla suddenly took all the bags off his shoulders.
“Allow me to carry all this back. We started on the wrong foot. I insist.”
"Well, thanks…" Auroa smiled.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the middle of the jungle, another general from Baronia teleports his way down from a far distance. The Kafkinator stands on a tree branch keeping quiet.
“Time to see how this plays.”
