Title:You owe me a dance, remember?
3rd POV-
Today was it. The day that all of America had been counting down for. The day their soldiers came back home from the war. Men and women filled the street looking for their brothers, husbands, or sons. And among the crowd was one man looking for his soldier. His Lover.
The (short/tall) man half ran half jogged around. Looking frantically to find the (color)-ette. Minutes pass by and his heart pounds loudly in his ears.
'Where is he. Where the HELL is he.'
It's now been more than half an hour and (C/n) was simply wandering around. Tears threatening to fall down his cheeks as his hope slowly drained out of him. Now reduced to a slow walk, he passed by the city's storefronts. He didn't hear the people shouting, yelling, and crying around him, he didn't even feel in touch with reality. This felt like a nightmare.
As he was walking something soon grabbed him and pulled him into the nearby alleyway. (C/n) tried to break free of the tight grip, until his eyes met with a set of (E/c) ones. Shocked all the (color) haired boy could do was stare and take in the other's presence. Then every emotion hit him at once and he fell to his knees crying.
(M/n) got on his knees and hugged his (small/muscular/etc) frame. Their body's fitting together perfectly. Crying loudly and hiccuping, (C/n) tried to speak, but the other shushed him letting him cry. The two pushed the world out as they stayed in the dark alleyway with a loving silence hanging in the air.
Soon, (C/n) pulled away and looked at the other, caressing the side of their face. "I thought," he looked on the brink of tears again as he bit his trembling bottom lip, "I couldn't find you." Giving him a comforting smile, (M/n) simply said, "I'm here now My Dear." And kissed his nose making the other let out a small, soft giggle.
Getting up, (C/n) wipes his eyes and gave a shaky, but happy smile. "Now that I'm back, I believe that you have a promise to make up to me (C/n)." The (Color)-ette said. Furrowing his brows the other soon let out a surprised squeak as (M/n) grabbed his hand and started leading them down through the alley way.
The two ran down the alleyways going through twists and turns, until they ended up in a field near a building lit up with lights. A crowd of men and women outside, ready to dance the night away together. Leading them away from the crowd's judging eyes, (M/n) lead them underneath a big weeping willow tree.
Just as (C/n) was going to ask what the hell he was doing, he heard the start up of music playing loudly from the hall {cue song above}. (M/n) stepped back and bowed then held out his hand with a small smirk. A mischievous twinkle in his eye, "I believe you owe me a dance."
Laughing, he took the (color)-ette's hand and nodded, a smirk also settling on the (shorter/taller) man's lips. "I guess I do," (M/n) pulled (C/n)'s body closer to him and put his other hand on his waist, while (C/n) put his hand on his shoulder. The music echoed out through the field and they started to sway and dance to the music. Their eyes never leaving the others.
The sun slowly began to set and the orange rays hit the pair through the leaves of the willow. This is exactly how both hoped to great each other again. They stayed in the embrace and (M/n) twirled (C/n) around causing him to laugh and giggle with a hint of a blush on his face.
And all too soon, the song came to a close. And just as it was ending, (M/n) suddenly dipped (C/n) and kissed him fully. (C/n) cupped (M/n)'s face soon after and returned the kiss with just as much passion. And then the song was over, they pulled apart and stood back up again. Another song came on and without hesitation, (M/n) held out his hand again.
"May I have this dance?"
"Of course." And (C/n) took his hand.
His soldier was back home from the war and was exactly back where he needed to be. In his arms safe and sound.
The two danced away into the night even after the music stopped coming from the hall. They laughed and lived in the moment. Their love keeping them warm through the cold night's breeze.
