Alex glanced down at his phone in his hand and realised he'd been running for almost an hour and decided it was best to call it quits and head home.
Turning around and setting off he felt the hairs on the back of his neck prickle and he was certain that somebody was watching him.
He whipped round but could see no sign of anyone around, just a couple of birds.
Shaking his head he broke into full sprint to try get home as fast as possible so he could try grab some more sleep before he had to get up for school.
he arrived at his door panting heavily and sweat drenched his short chestnut hair, he went inside and into his room.
Stripping off he decided to shower quickly to wash the sweat from his body.
He stepped into the small bathroom joined onto is bedroom and turned on the water, waiting for it to heat up.
He stepped under the hot spray and felt the water wash over him.
After a shower he pulled on his boxers and a tee and settled himself under the covers on his large bed.
His mom had been adamant about him getting a bigger bed due to his height and the only way that worked was to buy king size.
He'd always been tall, standing at 6 foot 3 at the moment with some well developed muscle and a face that his mom called adorable with a square jaw and a nose that was ever so slightly crooked after he broke it when he fell over during one of his late night runs.
The main feature though was a pair of ocean blue eyes that burned with a quiet intensity.
After a few minutes he slipped into quiet slumber.
A loud beeping awoke him as his alarm went off, signalling that it was time to get up and take care of his morning routine before getting breakfast.
Pulling himself out of bed he went to his cupboard and pulled out his exercise mat and started doing some stretches before launching into his morning exercise routine, he'd gained a bit of muscle since he started but was by no means overly muscular, with a slight six-pack that he was incredibly proud of, it was a visual reminder of all the work that he put in to keep himself in shape and taking care of his health.
He showered and pulled on a pair of black jeans, a white tee and a grey v-neck sweater before heading downstairs where the sweet smell of caffeine beckoned.
His mom was in the kitchen frying up some bacon and eggs for that mornings breakfast, a fresh pot of coffee sat on the side.
"Morning Mom" Alex said, making his mom jump a little and snapping her out of her thoughts.
She flashed him a smile and returned his greeting.
"Looking forward to your first day at school?" she asked.
Alex shook his head as he reached into a cupboard to grab a mug and headed to the fridge for creamer.
"it'll be fine, you're not the skinny beanpole you used to be, nobody is going to bully you here and from the classes i've had most of the towns kids are actually really nice, I think you'll fit right in." she said looking at him.
He knew she was trying to make him feel better and it kind of worked, but his nerves still remained, after a breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast His mom kissed him on the forehead and headed off to work.
Alex knew he had at least one class with his mom which was the real reason he was nervous, he didn't want his mom to embarass him in front of the other people in the school.
He'd never live it down, Shaking himself from his stupor he grabbed his bag and keys from his room and stepped outside and into the bright sunshine.
He made his way to his car, a black Ford explorer that had been a gift from his mom when he turned 18.
He climbed in and plugged his aux cable in and blasted some music in the car while he drove to school.
Finally he pulled up and found a parking spot and climbed out of the car and looked at the building where he would be studying for the next 4 years.
