That "someone" who was cornering Lynstella was no other than the noble brat from earlier.
With the slightest irritation still lingering on him, Seth approached the noble brat.
"What's happening here?"
"Don't get in m—" The brat turned his head to him. "You again!?"
"'Again'?" asked Lynstella, her face evident of confusion.
Seth ignored her, only giving her a momentary glance. She didn't seem troubled so he tried calming himself as he faced the noble brat once more.
"I am not getting in your way. I am just asking what's going on."
"Well what do you care?" Finally turning his body to him, the brat took a step forward.
Seth's patience was gone empty this time.
"Hmm, I guess idiots like the one who's right in front of me only care about themselves," he said in an innocent tone, yet tinged with mockery.
"I see no problem on it."
"So you admit that you're an idiot...?"
"You...!" The brat unsheathed his sword and dashed towards him.
"Seth!" shouted Lynstella.
His eyes widened in surprise, barely managing to slid himself out of range as the noble brat slashed his saber downwards in a way that could split someone in two.
He expected this kind of development, but he was still surprised. He did not anticipate that the brat would use that weapon. It seems that the brat did not care even if he placed a burden on his family's name.
Right after the noble brat missed his first attempt, he pulled his sword that was slightly impaled on the ground and dashed towards Seth once more.
For sure, this battle is one-sided. Seth cannot stand a chance against someone who had a weapon while he, on the other hand, was left empty-handed. He just awakened as a mage recently, so using magic was out of the question. The best option for him was to avoid getting close to the brat, which is why he was constantly running.
"What's the matter, peasant? Why are you running?" the brat said while chasing Seth, his face, about to explode, red as a tomato's.
Suddenly, the noble brat stumbled forward as though he had suddenly lost his balance. It seemed unnatural to Seth so he took a peek at Lynstella. His thoughts were right. Lynstella's left hand was aimed at the brat, which means she had cast a wind spell on him.
Does that mean Lynstella's wind rune is already at the first stage?
Not being able to surpass Lynstella was what Seth had worried the most despite being in a tough situation, not until he realized that he was almost inside the noble brat's range. The brat was already on a battle stance, his shining sword ready to swing.
Seth slightly panicked and tried to come up with more options, but it seems that fleeing was the only thing that he could do. If only he had a sword, he would definitely stand a chance against this overconfident brat.
Suddenly, an idea popped up to Seth's mind, so he quickly turned his head to Lynstella to signal her to cast another wind spell. But then, when he saw how exhausted she looked from casting the spell earlier, he immediately canceled his plan. Because of that, he started to get more nervous. The noble brat was surprisingly fast at running, so he had to run in zigzags to somehow lose the brat's speed.
"Hmph. You're actually smart for a peasant!"
It was unfortunate for Seth that they were in that place. There were no people around to scold them and stop this mess. Not only that, but the area also had lots of trees that made it hard for him to run freely.
After a few seconds, what Seth had feared the most happened. He got cornered because of those damned trees.
"Die rat!"
