"You're right. It's not an ordinary necklace."
Seth's mother held the pendant and faced the jewel to him.
"As you can see, the particles are now moving rapidly. That's because the gem is already full. Those particles by the way are mana particles. You can put mana particles in it and withdraw them later on when needed, just like a water container."
"But it's draining my mana against my will. Isn't that stealing?"
"That's because you aren't good at controlling raw mana. You left a few openings that eventually became the reservoirs for the gem."
"Oh..." Seth remained staring at the overflow of mana inside the gem. "Then, how will you absorb them?"
"Simply touch it and create an opening for mana linking that is only for receiving mana."
With her touch, the particles once again became slow.
Seth actually didn't understand her explanation. But thinking back to how exhausted Lynstella was for casting a spell, this would definitely be useful to her. She was smart, so she would figure it out in no time for sure.
"Thank you, mother. This will be useful to Lyn."
"No problem." She stood up and began to leave the room. "Be sure to tell me what her answer is."
"I'm telling you, it's not like that."
She only responded with a chuckle as she closes the door.
Seth stared at the necklace once more before he put it back inside the box. Since there was still plenty of time, he decided to clean the box to somehow improve its outer appearance and spent the remaining time afterward reading books.
When the sun had almost sunk down, Seth changed into a slightly appealing, black tunic and pants.
The tunic reminded him of a brat, however.
Putting the small box in his pocket, Seth said goodbye to his mother and finally went outside. With the direction of the evening breeze seemingly blowing towards the house of the Aerithan Family, he let it guide him as he thought about the events of Lynstella's last birthday.
I... definitely won't let that happen again, he swore to himself.
