3rd POV-
The ship rocked on the sea as the stars twinkled in the black night. The moon a full circle in the sky, as the crew finally settle down into their cabins for the night. On one side held the passengers. And among them, was a certain pair of men.
One laid on the bed asleep, while the other was awake with a troubled conscience. Thoughts of the battle they just had and the effects it had wouldn't leave. Finally the doctor sat up slowly, before leaving the room.
(M/n)'s POV-
Hearing the floorboards creak I sat up just as the door closed. Running my hand through my (c/h) hair, I turned to face Julian, only finding the empty bed.
'He left..?'
I got up with a yawn before stumbling to the door. Swinging it open I heard footsteps at the very end of the hallway. Soon followed by the squeaks of a staircase. Shaking my head, I travelled up the stairs onto the rocking deck under the stars.
3rd POV-
(M/n) held onto the thin metal bar that was on the side of staircase. As the boat rocked along the sea into the night, he needed something to stabilize himself. Getting to the top, the tall man finally reached the deck. Looking around he finally sees the plague doctor.
Walking over, he heard the red head sigh loudly. Holding something in his hands Julian hangs his head low. Muttering to himself, (M/n) finally got to the railing. "Julian? What is going on?" The male said finally starting to wake up.
Surprised the red head turned around and gave a smile. "Ah, My Dear! You're up late hm?" He said avoiding the question.
"Julian what's wrong?"
"I have no idea what you mean. i just came to enjoy the air." Said the doctor with a sniff. (M/n) deadpanned at home and just stared. He knew something was up and wouldn't leave until he knew what.
The ginger sighed in defeat as his smile deflated. "You know me too well." He stated a bit annoyed. The (h/c)-ette got up and caressed the others face, removing his eye patch and looking at him lovingly. "What is wrong Ilya?"
With those four words, Julian's entire demeanor changed. Tears slowly streamed down his cheeks and he sniffled loudly. Holding (M/n)'s hand to his face, wishing to stay like this forever.
"I...i don't know what to do next." Was the Laconic reply. Tilting his head the apprentice stood confused. "My whole life has been usually driven by something. Like before it was the plague. Then it was figuring out what happened to Lucio."
Julian's hand fell as he grew a bit angry, not meeting his lover's eyes. "Then we stopped The Devil! The bloody DEVIL!" He yelled out facing the sea, holding onto the side. "Now.....now." He says, growing sadder.
Turning, he shows a emotionless smile on his smooth but chapped lips. The breeze carried his hair as more stars showed up in the sky.
"Now. I have nothing i'm here to do really. I've done it all. I have nothing left."
The two didn't dare move for a moment. Julian's eyes fell to the floor finding little comfort, while the soft gaze of (M/N) looked on. (M/N) Stepped forward and hug him tight. Without missing a beat, Julian started crying again, holding onto him as if his life depended on it.
"Ilya. I will be with you no matter where we go. Whether you wanna settle down and build a clinic or become a thief that writes plays about themself." Another dry laugh escapes his lips as they tremble softly, breathing in the scent of his lover. "I'll be here for you. Wherever you go. What ever you do, i'll be right there. This is our adventure."
(M/n) pulls away just enough to kiss him softly.
"Our adventure." He mumbles again as they kiss once more on the deck, in the dark of night.
